It’s really tricky cos I’ve not even been there a week, and I don’t want their first impression of me to be ‘the one who tells us off when we have the bants’, and they’ve all actually been really welcoming and friendly - I like these people - and none of it has been directed AT me...
But on the other hand, I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve heard ‘girl’ used as a synonym for weak, or had boxes taken off me even though I was fine because one of the guys assumes I can’t lift it. Not to mention the word ‘pussy’ being hurled back and forth CONSTANTLY. My manager even told me to ‘man up’ today when I complained that my feet were sore. I mean, he was joking, but still, grrrr!
There is one guy there who is enlightened enough to call the others out on it (and he’s in his 40s, where the rest are mostly a lot younger - disappointing - should surely be the other way round), so we’ve been tag teaming the death glares.
