Aneeth Arora is one of those wunderkinds of Indian fashion industry who seems to holds the wisdom of a veteran designer and subtly delivers it with every collection; almost always, touching perfection.

For the spring-summer15, Aneeth understands and sticks to her ambit while bringing in certain unexplored elements. Reinventing chikankari, implementing fine aari and zardosi work onto indigenous summer fabrics, and the intelligent use of neons, different from her signature use of colours, turn out well. But what really held the charm of the show and anchored the collection was her presentation. Being a gardener by passion, Aneeth brings out a sense of animism through her personal touch to the set. On the set which was transformed into a blossoming nursery filled with flora and fauna, the Pero woman held a  je ne sais quoi about her. Exuding a Parisian-chic style, Aneeth was inspired by the romantic countryside view with wild daisies growing on the sides of the road,  and in her own words she explains, “The Pero woman would rather wear flowers on her head than diamonds around her neck”, which further dictates the confidence of the designer in the power of individuality.     

The collection comes to life with fabrics like chanderi, khadi, silk, cotton and linen. Centered on hand embroidery and crochet work, the collection featured cotton & khadi dresses with crochet and floral neon yokes, cotton and silk shorts with lace, hand crochet blouses, chanderi skirts with hand embroidered flowers, diaphanous cotton tops with beaded collars and a few limited edition denim pants. Embroidered tulips and daisies perfected the flower story; the watering cans and the bouffant floral headgears added the finishing touch to the nature-loving, organic atmosphere.

What more, the designer had giveaways in the form of real plants that she is said to have planted herself, months ago.

After a successful meeting with the well connected Caroline Young and the very talented Aneeth Arora a collaboration was born and I started my busy week immediately. 

Aneeth is a clothes designer, she makes wonderful handmade garments under the name pèro. Everything in her collections are hand made, from the weavers making the fabric, the dying of the fabrics, to the tailors and the hand embroiders. India's Fashion Week was commencing in two days, so everyone was working fast to prepare for the show.

My job is to document the process of the making of the delightful pèro clothes, document the fashion Week, the catwalk and the backstage madness to create contemporary tapestries to display on Aneeth's stand at the India Fashion Week.

This is my first days work created in the pèro workshop, observing the workers in stitch on to fabrics all from the pèro archive and using scraps of the Autumn Winter Collection as the workers are.

A distinctive feature on many of Aneeth's clothes are the small embroidered knots which will hem your collar or sleeves. Once I had finished the stitch, I handed it to the nimble fingered gentleman and he completed the piece by embellishing the sides with small blue and white knots. 

A nice atmosphere to work in as the room was in a deep relaxing state of concentration, as we all stitched the day away.
