#and slaps

So I completely head-canon that Ardyn (more specifically, the demons within Ardyn) do not like to be touched. To explain this, let’s examine the times where we do see Ardyn touch.

So the first time we see Ardyn have any real ‘contact’ with anyone is, of course, this scene.

The scene that riled up Luna lovers everywhere. Now, Ardyn isn't ‘technically’ touching Luna here. He sort of is... he’s just... touching her with something stabby. Yeah that’s it. Stop looking at me like that Ardyn.

I personally don’t really class this as him touching, you may see it otherwise but for me, this isn't really all that touchy. But, then we get this.

Now this really is Ardyn taking the initiative on contact. But, this is a rather forceful contact; a play on power. There is nothing soft or kind about this part. Demons of course, thrive on darkness and the scourge most likely enjoys this sort of violence. Then, this happens.  

Now this very clearly, isn't Ardyn touching Luna. It’s Luna touching Ardyn. He is allowing her to do this. For a moment, her Oracle power seems to give him some sort of clarity, as his expression softens for a moment when she recites the prophecy. Buuuut... Then we get this.

This is again, a forceful and violent contact. Nothing sweet about getting slapped in the face! Unless you like it when daddy hits you, you kinky kittens.

After this, it’s a long time before we see any contact again. And oh look!

Another scene with Ardyn touching you with something else. Minds out of the gutters you lot. But again, Ardyn doesn’t touch Noctis. He smacks him with the gun. Now I know what you’re thinking. “But what about the chase scene inside the train?” Well, as we all know by now, that isn't really Ardyn. I don’t count that towards this theory.

Ardyn really has nothing to do with this contact scene with Gentiana. He can’t stop it, he doesn’t get to react to it. We can’t get much out of this at all. But I can guarantee he wasn’t too happy about being turned into a popsicle. And with Noctis, he merely brushes him out of the way. Not forceful, but certainly not gentle either.

And thus, we come to our final scene.

Much like when he bitch-slaps Luna, this is a very forceful and violent action from Ardyn. A play on power. And then after pulling him to his feet, he gives Noctis a good shove. Another violent action.

So yeah. Make up your own mind; does Ardyn (or his demons) have a problem with touching people? Even when given a chance to willingly touch someone without it involving violence in some way, Ardyn simply does not touch.
