I love the breach mechanic, but some of the mandated cover positions people take following it are asinine. 

I already had all four of my troops hug a car against mutons that can just destroy it with one action, fine.

But to have a mission where my third man through starts in a position that can be flanked by the starting enemies? Before he can take an action? Against enemies that are willing to ignore cover completely to get a flank shot? And thanks to the turn system he doesn’t even get a turn to move unless I blow my once per mission thing?

So, I’m down one man out the start. Fine.

So, I’m down two men out the start because it’s XCOM, sure, the dice screw you over through cover sometimes, fine, I rushed weapons and not armor, makes sense.

On the tactical level I learn that Torque gets more than 100 dodge if you just don’t get the weak talent and wait to unlock her potential. I also make the mistake of not starting a tech upgrade I want because apparently spec ops rewards must first be collected and I thought I didn’t have enough elerium. Fine.

The game wants me to fight through wave after wave of reinforcements, 2v2 style. Fine. We’ve gone from the XCOM approach of “panic and try fix your mistakes with bold plays” to “death spiral slow guerilla warfare as I creep across the map,” but fine.
