Of course I can!

It's essentially set in our world, just with some slight alterations - like that some people have magic. Not everyone has magic, and prior to fairly recently, those who didn't weren't aware of it. And yeah, it is set in modern times.

In terms of the setting, the story starts in Ancia, a fictional city... somewhere. I didn't want to be too specific with where it is, because I want people to be able to picture it wherever they want. So if you want to keep my inspirations out of your brain, then don't read on!

Ancia itself is a mix of London, several cities in Ireland, Berlin, New York and Chicago. The whole story takes place in a cold climate, including Ancia, where it frequently snows. Visually, most of the city is made up of brutalist and industrial architecture, with hints of beaux-arts, Georgian and Edwardian architecture. (I'll put some reference images below the cut)

The rest of the story takes place around... a country? Which, again, isn't anywhere in particular. The country was created as a mix of Ireland, Scotland, England, the US, Argentina, Italy and New Zealand. They're a coastal country with at least one large mountain range. It's a very green country, and the majority of the beaches are pebble beaches. It has a humid climate and it rains frequently, except for in the mountains where it often snows.
