the safest people are the people who aren’t easy on the eyes. he’s learned that since his teen years, since his childhood, since before he was thrust into the best years and the turning years of his life. when he lays his eyes on her, that’s what he’s thinking. there’s something off with her, and if he know how to feel what he felt years ago, he’d probably describe what he perceives now, in the back of his mind, as curiosity and caution. kindness is a virtue, they drilled and drilled. so he smiles, kindness bleeding onto his lips and the shadows of his face, and pushes the strap of his rucksack up. ❝ i hope there’s not somethin’ i’m missin’, here. ❞
