He gives a lazy shrug, ❝ Yeah well, it’s over now. He’s dead. ❞ he says nonchalantly. Then a thought comes to mind, he was contacted anonymous to put out this guy out so now he’s wondering if he’s talking to the person who contacted him.  He looks at him, his head tilts again,  ❝ Hey, you weren’t the one who put out a contract on his head, were you? ❞ he asks, sure it might be rude to ask, but to be honest he really didn’t care.

a cycle had started between the other soldiers and decker. no one would approach him unless it was absolutely necessary and he didn’t both to talk to them, either. it was more learned behavior on his part. “you didn’t scare me,” he said with a small shrug, tracking david’s movements with a curious tilt of his head. his inner wolf had him take a deep breath in in some sort of attempt to take in the other soldier’s scent - maybe pinpoint any cues of what he actually wanted, too. “nice to meet you,” decker said with a little nod of his head. his parents’ had raised him to be polite, after all. “I would introduce myself but apparently everyone around here already knows my name.”

\With another step back she loses her balance and ends up on the ground. She switches the knife to her left hand, while her right clasps itself over her wound. She raises the blade in some small attempt to defend herself, though it becomes harder and harder to even do that with how weak she’s getting. Maybe this hunt was a foolish endeavor after all, and maybe her stubbornness would finally cost her her life.  

❝ Sounds like a you problem. ❞ she snarkily remarks. She’s doing everything to keep herself awake, even if that meant useless talk. ❝ Because I sure as hell am not gonna be your fucking snack. ❞

      ❝ inconveniences are even worse than problems.  problems are usually easily solved, inconveniences are like a thorn in the side that is too deep to easily remove.❞     hands are clasped in front of her with a smile as she listens to him speak.  he had a soothing voice and so far he had been handsome company.  someone that her parents would have vaguely approved upon if he’d been italian.  too bad she’d run away with that awful spaniard all those years ago.  their opinion mattered little since they were long in their grave, her siblings having buried them one soon after the other.

 a hand comes to find his wrist, squeezing it gently.  if she massaged the ego, came off as someone who was completely and utterly innocent, she would get the answers she wanted and be able to help him.  she was just a poor widow after all.  her husband leaving her on their wedding night after realising how much of a mistake their marriage was.      ❝ what do they look like ?  will they try and come after me for being in your company ? ❞     her voice goes high on the last word, as if she’s afraid.  she’s not, but if she made him feel strong, she’ll get the answers she needs.

david  shakes  his  head,        and  in  his  eyes  is  that  pleasant,        amused  little  gleam,        same  as  the  curl  upwards  of  his  lips,        that  he  always  has  whenever  he’s  trying  to  talk  someone  down  from  their  worry.            there’s  no  reason  for  it.            he’s  more  than  capable  of  handling  himself.            even  if  this  woman  doesn’t  look  quiet  at  physically  capable  as  he  is                        he  hasn’t  been  one  to  put  anything  aside  just  because  of  the  way  someone  looks.            he  is,        though,        ever  inclined  to  answering  her  questions  because  of  it.                                  ❝            no  ma’am,        no  one’s  gonna  try  and  come  for  you  just  'cause  you’re  anywhere  near  me.            you  don’t  need  to  worry  about  that.            that’s  not  how  they  operate.            they  rather  get  you  somewhere  safe  and  away  from  me  before  they  come  after  me.            if  they  had  their  way,        i’d  be  locked  up  in  behind  bars  the  rest  of  my  life.            i  can’t  have  that.            ❞
