SO TRUE Honestly, I love Izzy but I think this part was badly written BECAUSE it almost seemed like they were writing her as if she had the point of view of someone that knew future alec was gonna be out and proud and finding it easier? Like, seen as the writers obviously knew themselves, they didn't put effort into making any character other than alec and magnus seem nervous and unsure/defensive/scared?
I don’t know if that makes sense because I can’t put my thought into words :P
I honestly believe that that izzy line was made to be like a “funny” moment between alec and izzy. it wasn’t. but that’s how they saw it. however i do believe that the fact that alec and magnus are the only ones in the whole show that ever point out how hard it can be or the only ones that have issues or understand each other was a conscious choice since a lot was written by an actual gay man, all the “straight” characters are so oblivious of their words and actions but alec and magnus are very careful with everything
Re Ackley Bridge: if there's no exploration of Cory's sexuality as they said there would be, and the current storyline doesn't end with Sian being clearly thought of and shown to be a predator and abuser and manipulator in this whole situation.... I'm gonna be super pissed
There's only one episode left so I don't really have any time to explore Cory's sexuality. They have to end sian as the bad guy or its just wrong, either way my expectations aren't high
