Amoracchius, Excalibur, one of the three swords of the cross.
What is it made out of. I always thought steel. But then re listening to Grave Peril I discovered something odd. When Harry went to use the sword on the hell hounds he drops it, then the Leanansidhe picked up the sword. The description of the sword is a wire bound hilt with a crusader style bound hilt. The nail worked into the hilt. With that description it's all metal and we know it was unsheethed since Harry mentioned it just before hand.
Since the Fey can not touch iron and steel is mostly made of iron. The box cutter blades are not pure iron so the standard stainless steel does hurt. But Lea touched Amoracchius without issue. What is the metal that is used to allow her to touch the blade?
Headcannon that the next knight to wield Amoracchius is aromantic.
Dresden Files Moodboard
Major spoilers up to Cold Days!!!!
Do not read unless you like spoilers or are up to the end of this book.
I have been thinking with Grave Peril (yes I go back this far) that Lea made Micheal a offer at the Ball. Amoracchius for Molly, Micheal told her no deal, and I know now this does not matter since Lea and ultimately Maab gets Molly now. But then I wonder, how does Thomas get Amoracchius back? Lea made Micheal this offer and later Micheal accepts the sword without question from Thomas.
So how does this vampire get the sword in the midst of the confusion, he needed to get out and he takes the time to get the sword out as well? It’s never been said, how he got it.
I know Thomas is Harry’s half brother, I know he is aware of the fey and the dangers it is to accept a gift from them. But what if Lea told him (and they can not lie) that he is not obligated to owe her anything. Since Thomas is also Maggie’s son there is that connection, does Thomas then learn at this time a secret not even the White King knows about him and Harry? Something that makes him willing to help with the duel in the next book and hire Harry for the book after.
So then Thomas thinking he is helping a newly discovered brother brings the sword to a unsuspecting Micheal who then accepts the sword, and trade, dooming Molly with the deal?
Am I again reading to much into this? Or is there a possibility that I hit something?

I don’t think what happens to Murphy in Skin Game is the end of her career as a Knight of the Cross. Murphy wielded the Sword of Faith, and used it for some pretty amazing things. But the catch is that Murphy never had faith in the most important thing: herself. She picked up the sword on the boat and she used it at Chichen Itza, but she never took it up permanently, even when Harry offered it to her. Why? Because she was afraid that she wasn’t worthy of it. And that is why she could not be a full Knight of the Cross, especially not with Fidelacchius. However, there is one virtue that Murphy has to spare: love. When she saved Harry’s life in Small Favor, it was an act of love. When she fought for her friends at Chichen Itza, it was an act of love. And when she saw her worst fears realized in Skin Game by destroying Fidelacchius, it was because of her love. The story of our hero misusing their powers and being hurt because of it, only to come back strong by the end, is pretty classic. Just look at Luke Skywalker. And I believe that, come the finale, she’ll discover that the sword she was meant to wield all along was Amoracchius. Because Murphy is too amazing of a person for God to let out of his service so easily.
My friend made tiny Swords of the Cross using nails.
Flashback
Michael's head ached. His body ached. His soul ached. How did he think that last night was a good idea at all? He looked down at his watch, cursing. Late for work ag- wait, he was off today. That's why last night had felt like a good idea.
His da would have tanned his hide to a barn door if he had caught him sleeping this late on a Sunday back home. It was a good thing he'd finally managed to get off to college, then. He snorted. Then he felt remorseful, not just because the snort set his head to throbbing. He knew better than to act the way he had last night. He decided that he would go to Confession. He found a church called St. Mary's in the phone book.
