Mut, a fertility goddess, was the patroness of the city of Thebes and the consort of the god Amen-Ra. This pendant depicts the goddess wearing a close-fitting dress, tripartite wig and double crown of Upper and Lower Egypt. Suspension hoops are attached at the back of the double crown.

Faience Ram-headed Aegis Amulet
Nubian (Sudan), Napatan Period, reign of Piankhy (Piye), 743–712 B.C.
An aegis is a broad collar topped by the head of a deity, in this case the god Amen-Ra in the form of a ram crowned with a solar disk and uraeus. Amulets of this type were intended to offer protection to the wearer and avert potential dangers. On the reverse is a debased hieroglyphic inscription.
