AMD’s Ryzen 5 2600 Outsells Every Other Desktop CPU As Intel Loses Market Share
Small price cut and more expensive offerings from Intel with its 9th generation CPUs has made it possible for the AMD’s Ryzen 5 2600 to out-sell every other desktop CPU and by a big margin. AMD picks up second place too with the Ryzen 7 2700X while the Ryzen 5 2600X comes in third in the sales chart.
Germany’s largest retailers, Mindfactory, pointing at sky-high sales and sizeable gains in market share for AMD processors, which out-sold equivalent models from Intel INTC for three consecutive months this year. Reported by Wccftech and compiled by Reddit user Ingebor, point at AMD’s Ryzen 5 2600 as being by far the best-selling desktop CPU with the second being AMD’s Ryzen 7 2700X. The Ryzen 5 2600 is AMD’s cheapest 2nd generation Ryzen 6-core CPU and it was already a superb product
AMD Continues to Outsell Intel 2:1 at European Retailer
The European e-shop MindFactory.de releases updated sales reports, previous reports have shown AMD to be in a strong position overall, with a commanding lead in terms of unit volume and a much smaller overall revenue lead. A recent data dump from Mindfactory.de continues both trends. As always, caveats abound. This is data from a single European retailer. It does not reflect the North American retail market or other international retail markets. It doesn’t reflect OEM sales, which account for an overwhelming majority of the PC space. It does, however, demonstrate that AMD has maintained a consistent and attractive overall product mix in the face of strong competition from Intel over the past six months. The Core i9-9900K and 9700K are both very strong parts, and while they haven’t shipped in large volumes, they’ve driven a great deal of revenue for Mindfactory. First, here’s the breakdown by unit shipments:
This type of consistent, strong performance is exactly what AMD needs to be racking up to drive long-term profits and industry adoption of its products.

AMD’s now introduces World’s First 7nm GPU
David Wang, SVP at Radeon Technologies Group, introduced the world’s first 7nm graphics processor. Radeon Instinct MI60 is the first AMD graphics card to offer a bandwidth of 1 TB/s, thanks to four HBM2 stacks with up to 32GB of capacity. The Instinct MI60 is based on refined Vega 20 architecture, which features 13.23 billion transistors packed in a 331 mm2 die. The card is equipped with 4096 Stream Processors paired with 32GB of HBM2 memory.

The Instinct MI60 is also the first graphics card to support PCIe 4.0 available in connection with EPYC Rome CPU architecture. On Twitter AMD also confirmed Radeon Instinct MI50, which features 3840 Stream Processors and 16GB HBM2 memory. The focus with MI60 is clearly on data centers, as Wang explained, this is not a gaming GPU.
