With 6GB of GDDR6 memory, a base clock speed of 1660 MHz and a boost clock speed of 1770 MHz, the ASUS TUF 5600 XT is a budget-oriented card designed for 1080p gaming. The 2.7 slot design on the ASUS TUF 5600 XT gives the card a massive heat sink to keep the card running cool even under a heavy load. So, we put the ASUS TUF 5600 XT through its paces and our suite of benchmarks to see if AMD is truly the king of budget cards.

A Closer Look at the ASUS TUF 5600 XT
The ASUS TUF 5600 XT EVO OC edition is a triple-fan, 2.7 slot card with 6GB of GDDR6 memory. The 5600 XT is part of AMDās Navi series of graphics cards. The 5600 XT is based on AMDās Radeon DNA or RDNA micro-architecture and fabricated with TSMCās 7 nm FinFET manufacturing process. The 5600 XT is designed to offer a great 1080p gaming experience, The ASUS Tuf 5600 XT has two models; the standard edition and the OC edition. For this review, we tested the OC edition. The ASUS TUF 5600 XT has two modes, gaming mode, and OC mode.Ā The base clock in Gaming Mode is 1615 MHz with a boost clock speed of 1750 MHz. In OC Mode, the boost clock speed is 1660 MHz with a base clock of 1700 MHz. All ASUS TUF cards go through their 144-hour validation. This 1400-hour validation process puts cards through a series of tests to ensure compatibility with the latest games.

Ā The front of the ASUS Tuf 5600 XT has three fans. The center fan on the ASUS Tuf 5600 XT is slightly smaller than the ones on either end of the card. However, the ASUS TUF 5600 XT does not use traditional fans like so many other graphics cards. The ASUS TUF 5600 XT uses Axial-Tech fans that are exclusive to ASUS. In fact, the Axial-Tech fans were designed for the latest generation of ROG, or Republic of Gamers graphics cards. Axial_Tech fans feature a smaller fan hub, longer fan blades, and a barrier ring around the blades. This design greatly increases downward air pressure, leading to improved cooling over traditional fans. The center fan has the ASUS logo on the fan hud. The two end fans have the TUF logo in the center of each fan. A logo I still equate with their old Sabertooth line up of motherboards, which I miss. Near the bottom, slightly off-centered to the right of the card is the TUF Gaming branding.
The fans on the TUF 5600 XT are dual ball-bearing fans. The dual ball bearing fans on the TUF 5600 XT are estimated to have twice the lifespan of the average single ball bearing fans. The ASUS TUF 5600 XT also has 0dB technology. This allows the fans to only spin when the GPU temperature goes above 55°c.

I remember the days when even a $700 graphics card wasnāt guaranteed to come equipped with a back plate. Iām happy to see those days behind us, even on budget-oriented cards. The ASUS TUF 5600 XT is no exception. It comes equipped with a protective back plate that looks great. The back plate has the distinct TUF design one would expect to see of any TUF branded product from ASUS/ There is a cut out on the back plate just behind where the GPU is placed on the PCB and just above the PCIe connector. The TUF logo and TUF Gaming branding are inscribed on the back plate, near the cut out on the back plate.
Ā The IO of the ASUS TUF 5600 XT has four ports. These ports consist of a single HDMI 2.0b port and three DisplayPort 1.4 ports. The ASUS TUF 5600 XT does offer support for HDCP version. 2.3. Iām all for virtual reality and whatnot. But itās great to see a graphics card with three DisplayPorts.

Looking at the rear of the ASUS TUF 5600 XT, you can see the tips of the five nickel-plated copper heat pipes that run through the fin array on the TUF cooler. You can also see the two cables that plug into the PCB. These cables provide power to the three fans, as well as the LEDs on the side of the card.
From a top-down view, you can see how thick the 2.7 slot cooler on the ASUS TUF 5600 XT really is. To the left, and closest to the IO, there is a TUF logo with an LED strip located next to it. To the far right side, just below the 8-pin connector, there is an ASUS logo. The ASUS TUF 5600 XT is powered by a single 8-pin PCIe power connector. From the top, we get a good look at how thick the heat sink is on the TUF 5600 XT. Looking at the ASUS TUF 5600 XT from the bottom, youāll see the PCIe x16 connector.

With all graphics card reviews, we like to disassemble the card to take a closer look at the PCB and its components. There are a total of six screws that hold the back plate to the PCB. There are an additional six screws that hold the cooler in place on the PCB. I always first remove the four screws. surrounding the GPU die.
The first step we take in disassembling the ASUS TUF 5600 XT is to remove the back plate. There are even thermal pads on the back plate that cover the backside of the memory on the PCB. The back plate on the ASUS TUF 5600 XT is made out of aluminum and is designed to not only look good but add rigidity to the card.

Ā The ASUS TUF 5600 XT comes apart easily and breaks down into four components. These components are the heat sink, the three fan shroud, the PCB, and the back plate. The heat sink is made up of five nickel-plated copper heat pipes that run through the length of the fin array. The heat sink on the TUF 5600 XT is cut at different heights to ensure maximum contact with the components that produce the most heat.

Looking at the heat sink on the ASUS TUF 5600 XT a bit closer, we can see the thickness of the actual cold plate, as well as the thickness of the thermal pads for the memory. We can also see the five heat pipes that all make contact with the cold plate. Last, we can see how dense the fin array is on the heat sink.

The GPU die for the ASUS TUF 5600 XT has three memory modules on either side of it. As much of an Nvidia fan as I am, I must admit, I prefer the aesthetics of the AMD GPU die over Nvidia. Like ASUS ROG Card, all ASUS TUF cards are produced through Auto-Extreme Technology from ASUS. With their Auto-Extreme Technology, ASUS set a new standard in the way graphics cards are manufactured, essentially eliminating human error in the manufacturing process and going completely automated.
In a traditional manufacturing process, soldering of through-hole and surface-mounted components are performed separately. However, Auto-Extreme Technology allows all soldering to be completed in a single pass. Ā This helps to reduce the thermal strain on components. This also leads to the use of less harsh chemicals on the components. In the end, we have a lessened environmental impact, lower manufacturing power consumption, and a more reliable product. Even the back of the PCB is smooth. This will eliminate the possibility of cutting to scratching yourself on the back of the PCB if you were to ever disassemble your card that is.
The memory used on the ASUS TUF 5600 XT is Micron memory modules. The numbers on the actual modules is 9TA77 D9WCW. For more on those specific modules, click here. There are six GDDR6 memory modules in total. The memory on the ASUS TUF 5600 XT runs at up to 14 Gbps on a 192-bit memory bus. The memory on the TUF 5600 XT uses 2+1 power phases.
The ASUS TUF 5600 XT features Super Alloy Power II. This includes premium alloy chokes, solid polymer capacitors, and an array of high-current power stages. The VRM on the ASUS TUF 5600 XT has 7+1 power phases for the GPU and 2 phases for the memory. Iāve read several different answers to the VRM question in regards to the TUF 5600 XT.Ā However, my answer comes directly from ASUS. Both the 5700 XT and 5600 XT TUF have the same VRM configuration.

Ā Testing Procedures and Test System
   All testing was done with both the CPU and GPU at their stock settings. For the I9 9900K, it was left at its stock speed of 3.6 GHz. Although the base clock is 3.6 GHz, the I9-9900K can boost up to 4.9 GHz. In the case of our I7-9700K, it boosts between 4.7 GHz and 4.9 GHz. Usually, the I7-9700K used in this review runs at a consistent 4.7 GHz. Ambient temperature is kept as close to 20°C (68°f) as possible. When the system was first turned on, it sat idles for about 30 minutes or so before any benchmarks were run, or results recorded. We waited in between each benchmark no less than 30 minutes to give the system time to cool down a bit. Being an open-air system, it does cool down pretty quickly. The I7-9700K used in this review is water-cooled on a custom loop and the GPU used its stock air cooler. The block is the EK Velocity water block. There is a single 360 x 60 mm EK radiator in the loop and a 270 ml reservoir and a D5 pump. The I9-9900k is cooled by a Swiftech H320 X2 Prestige with a Bitspower monoblock for the Maximus XI Apex.

We do our best to keep our games up to date. So, we recently expanded our in-game testing by added more and newer titles to our suite of games we test. We have also started testing games in other APIs, such as Vulcan, whenever possible. Each game is tested in three resolutions. These resolutions are 1080p, 1440p. Generally, weād also include 4k benchmarks as well. However, where the ASUS TUF 5600 XT is a more budget-oriented card, designed for 1080p gaming, we are sticking to lower resolutions. Now, is it possible for the TUF 5600 XT to run games in 4k? Yes, however, I wouldnāt recommend it. The benchmarks were run three times and each. Each benchmark run is 180 seconds, or three minutes long. The final result is the average of the three runs. Games are played on a 27ā³ LG 4K 60 Hz monitor. We have recently updated the list of games we test and we have yet to retest all of our old cards. So, we have included results for the ASUS TUF 5600 XT on both the i9 9900K and the i7 9700K. However, the i9 9900K is the processor used on our standard test bench. The benchmarks were all run with ASUS GPU Tweak II set in Gaming Mode.Ā As for the games we test and benchmarks we run, they are listed as follows.

3DMark Fire Strike (DX11)
3DMark is the go-to benchmark for all enthusiasts. It covers tests for everything from tablets and notebooks to gaming laptops and the most powerful gaming machines. For this review, we ran both Time Spy Extreme and Fire Strike Ultra. For the synthetic benchmarks, we still run each benchmark three times. However, we just go with the best overall results out of the three, we do not average them out.
In 3DMark Time Spy, our ASUS TUF 5600 XTĀ achieved a higher overall score on the i9 9900k system. However, the TUF 5600 XT had a slightly higher score on the i7 9700k system. On the i9 9900k system, the TUF 5600 XT achieved an overall score of 7475 and a graphics score of 7057. On our 9700k system, the TUF 5600 XT achieved an overall score of 7227 and a graphics score of 7062.
In 3DMark Firestrike, the ASUS TUF 5600 XT did better in both the overall score, as well as the graphics score on our i9 9900k system. On the 9900k system, the ASUS TUF 5600 XT achieved an overall score of 18498 and a graphics score of 20764. On the i7 9700k system, the ASUS TUF 5600 XT had a graphics score of 20668 and an overall score of 17819.
VR Mark consists of three separate tests, each more intensive on your system than the last. These tests are The Orange Room, the Cyan Room, and the Blue Room. The Orange Room test is the least intense and is meant to test a system that meets the minimum hardware requirements for VR Gaming. The Cyan Room shows the user how the use of an API with less overhead can provide the user with a great VR experience, even on less than amazing hardware. The Blue Room test is designed for the latest and greatest hardware. The Blue Room renders at a whopping 5K resolution and is designed to push your system to the limits for an amazing VR experience.

VRMark Orange Room is the least graphically intensive of the VRMark benchmarks. The target frame rate of the Orange Room benchmark is 88.9 frames per second. The rendering resolution for the Orange Room benchmark is 2264 x 1348 This is designed to meet the frame rate of a PC that meets the recommended specifications of HTC Vive and the Oculus Rift. In VRMark Orange Room, the ASUS TUF 5600 XT achieved an overall score of 10423 on our i9 9900k test bench and an average frame rate of 227.33 frames per second. On our i7 9700k test bench, the TUF 5600 XT achieved an overall score of 10080 and an average frame rate of 219.73 frames per second.

The rendering resolution for the Cyan Room benchmark is also 2264 x 1348 This is designed to meet the frame rate of a PC that can maintain a minimum frame rate of 90 FPS running the Cyan Room Benchmark in HMD mode.Ā In VRMark Cyan Room, the ASUS TUF 5600 XT achieved an overall score of 7284 on our 9900k test bench and an average frame rate of 158.79 frames per second. On our 9700k test bench, the TUF 5600 XT achieved an overall score of 7082 and an average frame rate of 154.38 frames per second.

VRMARK Blue Room is the most graphically intensive benchmark in the VRMARK suite with a rendering resolution of 5k to 5120 x 2880Ā to be exact. The target frame rate of the Blue Room benchmark is the same as the target frame rate for the Cyan Room Benchmark, 109 frames per second. The Blue Room Benchmark is designed to meet the frame rate of a PC that can maintain a minimum frame rate of 90 FPS running the Blue Room Benchmark in HMD mode.Ā In VRMARK CyanRoom, the ASUS TUF 5600 XT achieved an overall score of 2014 on our 9900k test bench and an average frame rate of 43.91 frames per second. On our 9700k test bench, the TUF 5600 XT achieved an overall score of 1911 and an average frame rate of 41.66 frames per second.
Superposition is another GPU intensive benchmark put out by Unigine, the makers of both the very popular Valley and Heaven benchmarks. Superposition is an extreme performance and stability test for graphics cards, power supplies, and cooling systems. For this review, we ran all five benchmark settings in Unigine Superposition. These settings are 1080p Medium, 1080p High, 1080p Extreme, 4k Optimized and 8k Optimized. These tests were run on both the I9-9900k test bench and the I7-9700k test bench.
In Unigine Superpositionās 1080p Medium test, the ASUS TUF 5600 XT achieved a better overall score on the I9-9900k test bench. The TUF 5600 XT scored 13530 on our 9900k system and a score of 12776 on our 9700k system on the 1080p Medium settings.
In Unigine Superpositionās 1080p High test, the ASUS TUF 5600 XT again achieved a better overall score on the I9-9900k system. The TUF 5600 XT scored 9556 on our 9900k test bench and a score of 9070 on our 9700k system on the 1080p High settings.
We start to see a trend on Unigine Superpositionās 1080p Extreme test, as once again the ASUS TUF 5600 XT achieved a better overall score on our i9-9900k test bench. The TUF 5600 XT scored 3956 on our 9900k system and a score of 3756 on our 9700k system on the 1080p Extreme settings.
In Unigine Superpositionās 4k Optimized test, the ASUS TUF 5600 XT continued to achieve higher scores on our 9900k test bench. The TUF 5600 XT scored 5703 on our 9900k test bench and a score of 5448 on our 9700k test bench on the 4k Optimized settings.
Ā The Last test in Unigine Superposition is the 8k Optimized Test. Like the other four Superposition benchmarks, the ASUS TUF 5600 XT achieved a higher overall score on the 9900k test bench with a score of 2333. The TUF 5600 XT wasnāt too far behind that on the 9700k system with an overall score of 2233.

In Unigineās Heaven Benchmark, The ASUS TUF 5600 XT did slightly better when paired with the Core i9-9900k. The overall score for the ASUS TUF 5600 XT on out standard test bench with the 9900k was 1273 The minimum frame rate on the 9900k system was 27.1, the maximum frame rate was 104.4 and the average frame rate was 50.5. On our 9700k test bench, the TUF 5600 XT achieved an overall score of 1171. The minimum frame rate was 30.8. the maximum frame rate was 92.8 and the average frame rate was 46.5.

Assassinās Creed Odyssey is a very demanding game on your GPU. Although the TUF 5600 XT had higher max frame rates in both resolutions on the 9900k system, in both 1080p and 1440p, the ASUS TUF 5600 XT had better averages on the i7-9700k test bench. On our 9900k system in 1080p resolution, we averaged 46 frames per second in Assassinās Creed Odyssey. On the 9700k system, we averaged 59 frames per second in 1080p. In 1440p, we averaged 37 frames per second in Assassinās Creed Odyssey on the 9900k system and 44 frames per second on the 9700k system.
Borderlands 3 is an action role-playing first-person shooter video game developed by Gearbox Software and published by 2K Games. It is the sequel to 2012ās Borderlands 2, and the fourth main entry in the Borderlands series. In Borderlands 3, the results for the ASUS TUF 5600 XT were very close on both systems. Iād dare to say, within the margin of error. In 1080p, the TUF 5600 XT averaged 60 frames per second on our 9900k test bench and 61 frames per second on our 9700k system. In 1440p, there was a slightly larger gap between the two systems, as in two frames instead of one. On the 9900k system, the TUF 5600 XT averaged 43 frames per second and 45 frames per second on the 9700k system.
Deus Ex: Mankind Divided is an action role-playing game with first-person shooter and stealth mechanics that released in 2016. Set two years after Human Revolution in 2029, the world is divided between normal humans and those with advanced, controversial artificial organs called augmentations. You take up the role of Adam Jensen, a double agent for the hacker group Juggernaut Collective, who are equipped with the latest and most advanced augmentation technology. This game is beautiful and still very demanding on your system. The section bench marked was near the beginning of the game, after the tutorial.

The results for Deus Ex: Mankind Divided reflected the results of Borderlands 3 as they were very close on both systems. In 1080p The ASUS TUF 5600 XT averaged 69 frames per second on the 9900k system and 67 frames per second on the 9700k system. In Far Cry New Dawn, the ASUS TUF 5600 XT performed better on our 9700k test bench. In 1080p, the ASUS TUF 5600 XT averaged 58 frames per second on the 9700k system. This is five frames per second than the 563 FPS average on the 9900k system. In 1440p, the ASUS TUF 5600 XT averaged 29 frames per second on our 9700k system and only 25 frames per second on our 9900k system. Now, keep in mind this is on the games max setting. So, the TUF 5600 XT could easily handle 1440p with lowered setting in Far Cry New Dawn.
Tom Clancyās Ghost Recon Wildlands is a tactical shooter video game developed by Ubisoft Paris and published by Ubisoft. Ghost Recon: Wildlands was an odd one for the TUF 5600 XT. We actually ran this benchmark 6 times to see if the first round was a fluke. But in 1080p, pretty much every run was at least similar. The TUF 5600 XT averaged 60 frames per second on our 9700k system in 1080p and only 44 frames per second on our 9900k system. In 1440p, the results were much closer. The ASUS TUF 5600 XT averaged 32 frames per second on the 9700k system and 34 frames per second on our 9900k system.

Hitman 2 is my least favorite of the in-game-benchmarks we run. My reason for this is seen in the results. The in-game-benchmark always ends up with stupid high max frame rates. At times, as high as 500 to 600 frames per second. This to me seems to be an unrealistic representation of the results you see in-game. That being said, after extensive testing, it does seem that the averages work out to be about what you see in actual game play. With that, here are the results. In 1080p, there was a large gap between the two test systems. This was another one of the tests we ran 6 times, as opposed to the three we regularly run. In 1080p, the ASUS TUF 5600 XT averaged 99 frames per second on the 9700k system, but only 53 frames per second on the 9900k system. No idea why there is such a gap between the two, at least in 1080p. In 1440p, the TUF 5600 XT averaged 33 frames per second on our 9700k system and 32 frames per second on the 9900k system.

Metro Exodus showed nearly no difference between the two systems. Although the ASUS TUF 5600 XT did perform slightly better on the 9900k system, the results were close. In 1080p, the ASUS TUF 5600 XT averaged 121 frames per second on the 9900k system and 119 frames per second on the 9700k system.,Ā In 1440p, the TUF 5600 XT averaged 75 frames per second on the 9900k system and 73 frames per second on the 9700k system.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is a Western-themed action-adventure game. Using the DX!2 API in Red Dead Redemption, in 1080p, the ASUS TUF 5600 XT averaged 69 frames per second on the 9900k system and 62 frames per second on the 9700k system. In 1440p, the TUF 5600 XT averaged 52 frames per second on the 9900k system. The average was much lower on the 9700k system with an average of only 35 frames per second.

The Vulcan API seems to be a bit more stable in Red Dead Redemption 2 as the results were not only closer but also had higher minimum frame rates and lower maximum frame rates. Shadow of the Tomb Raider was a nightmare to benchmark, as least on our 9700k system. For whatever reason, every time weād attempt to enter the games graphics menu, it would instantly crash. The only way we were able to resolve this issue, was by reinstalling windows. We tried using DDU a few times and reinstalling drivers, but with no luck. However, a fresh install of windows fixed the issue. In 1080p, the ASUS TUF 5600 XT averaged 81 frames per second on our 9900k system and 86 frames per second on our 9700k system. In 1440p, the results were much closer. The TUF 5600 XT averaged 35 frames per second on our 9900k system and 34 frames per second on our 9700k system in 1440p.
Strange Brigade is a third-person shooter with a huge emphasis on cooperative gameplay. In the game, the player assumes the role of an adventurer in the 1930s and can team up with three other players to fight against different mythological enemies like mummies, giant scorpions, and minotaurs. The gameās four playable characters, who can be customized, have different weapons and abilities. Players have a large arsenal of weapons at their disposal. Each weapon has several upgrade slots, which can be used to enhance combat efficiency. Players can switch and upgrade their weapons at the workbenches found in a level. They can also activate different traps, such as spinning blades and spikes, to kill enemies.

In DX12, the ASUS TUF 5600 XT averaged 112 frames per second on our 9900k system and 119 frames per second on our 9700k system. In 1440p, the TUF 5600 XT averaged 81 frames per second on our 9900k system and 84 frames per second on our 9700k system.

Strange Brigade was another example of the Vulcan API being a bit more stable than DX12. Strange Brigade had much higher minimum frame rates in Vulcan when compared to DX12. In 1080p, the ASUS TUF 5600 XT averaged 119 frames per second on the 9900k system and 125 frames per second on the 9700k system. In 1440p resolution, the TUF 5600 XT averaged 87 frames per second on the 9900k test bench and 90 frames per second on the 9700k test bench.
Wolfenstein: Youngblood is a first-person shooter developed by MachineGames and Arkane Studios and published by Bethesda Softworks as a spin-off of the Wolfenstein series, The player assumes control of either Jessie or Zofia Blazkowicz from a first-person perspective; an optional cooperative multiplayer mode is included. Players can complete the game with another player or with an artificial intelligence substitute. Wolfenstein Young Blood was the only game we did not test on the games Ultra settings as Ultra is not the highest in-game graphical setting for this game. The highest graphical setting for this game is called mein leben. In 1080p resolution, on Wolfenstein Young Blood, the ASUS TUF 5600 XT averaged 122 frames per second on the 9900k system and 101 frames per second on the 9700k system. In 1440p, the TUF 5600 XT averaged 59 frames per second on the 9900k system and 51 frames per second on the 9700k test bench.
Ā Overclocking and Temperatures.
When it comes to graphics cards, I love overclocking. However, AMD graphics cards were never known for massive overclocking overhead. So, I wasnāt that surprised when I couldnāt even get 10 MHz past the OC Mode settings in ASUS GPU Tweak II. In fact, anytime Iād try to go past the +20 on the core or the +500 on the memory that OC Mode adds, 2 of the three screens on this system would go completely white and the third would simply freeze, requiring a hard reset. OC Mode in GPU Tweak II is supposed to boost the card as high as 1770 MHz. However, the absolute best speed I was able to achieve with the ASUS TUF 5600 XT was 1738 MHz and 3500 MHz on the memory. In Gaming Mode, the card is said to boost to 1750 MHz. However, the highest core clock we achieved while in gaming mode was only 1728 MHz. Now, is it possible that we simply received a dud when it came to clock speed? Very possible. However, due to AMDās history when it comes to overclocking, Iād say this most likely is a fair representation of what one would expect from the TUF 5600 XT.

As for temperature, the ASUS TUF 5600 XT stayed rather cool overall with the highest temperature we saw being 68°c while running Furmark. We ran Furmark with the ASUS TUF 5600 XT set in both Gaming Mode and OC Mode in GPU Tweak II. In Gaming Mode, the ASUS TUF 5600 XT scored 5784 points in Furmark with an average frame rate of 96 FPS and a max temp of 61°c. With the TUF 5600 XT set to OC Mode, which adds a +20 to the core clock speed and +500 to the memory speed, the card scored 6595 points, had an average frame rate of 110 frames per second and a max GPU temp of 68°c. As for temperatures in-game, we played GTA V for about an hour before recording the GPU temp. In-game, we never went over 62°c. A quick side note as well, all testing is generally done with the ambient temperature as close to 20°c (68°f) as possible. However, when recording the in-game GPU temp, the ambient temp was closer to 22°c or about 72°f. Did it make a big difference? Iām not sure, but I felt it important enough to mention.

From benchmarks weāve run, the ASUS TUF 5600 XT has more than enough graphics power to play most 1080p titles at rather high frame rates. Even in 1440p, the ASUS TUF 5600 XT did very well at max settings. With lowered graphical settings, the ASUS TUF 5600 XT could easily handle 1440p at 60 frames in many games. Although the TUF 5600 XT is a more budget-oriented card, like the ROG Strix cards, TUF cards are still produced using the Auto-Extreme Technology from ASUS and go through their A 144-hour validation program. Now where you canāt always guarantee a card wonāt get damaged in shipping to arrive DOA, youāre less likely to experience this with a card that went through this kind of strict evaluation process. I also love that the TUF brand has branched out into other products such as cases and coolers. This allows you to design a build around TUF products. Unlike many other budget-oriented cards, you donāt have to sacrifice quality to save some money.
Now, we canāt talk about the good, without mentioning the bad. This could just be me and my luck. However, I did seem to encounter more issues than normal when trying to test a graphics card. These issues included screens randomly flashing when attempting to load games, random driver-related crashes, and my favorite, my background randomly changing colors, or images, or mixing of both. One minute the background would be my regular background image. Iād open and close a window and the background would be solid pink or blue, or half the image and half pink. At times, there were random flickering issues that got so bad, I thought I had a had cable. But, four cables later, I had the same issue. It wasnāt until I switched from HDMI to DisplayPort that the issue was resolved. Now, could this all be operator error? absolutely. But I can neither confirm nor deny this as eventually, after several times reinstalling drivers and even Windows, everything works great now.
Looking through some of our older benchmarks, the ASUS TUF 5600 XT was even trading blows with the RTX 2060, and for less money. At the time of this review, the ASUS TUF 5600 XT OC Edition is selling on Amazon and Newegg for $319.99. However, Iāve seen it as low as $299.99 at Microcenter and even as low as $263.99 open box, also at Microcenter. As for the ASUS TUF RTX 2060, it goes for around $340. So, you get similar performance, for less money, Overall, I was very impressed with the ASUS TUF 5600 XT. The TUF 5600 XT not only looks good, but it performs great. The card not only runs very quiet, but it also runs fairly cool, never going over 68° in OC Mode on ASUS GPU Tweak II which adds 20 MHz to the core clock speed and 500 MHz to the memory speed. Although that was the highest clock speed I could achieve on this specific card, keep in mind its already a factory overclocked card. Historically, Iāve never had the best luck overclocking AMD GPUs, so I donāt hold this against the ASUS TUF 5600 XT. In fact, Iād say the price to performance of the ASUS TUF 5600 XT puts it in a place to be one of the best options for someone looking for a budget card with excellent 1080p performance.
