91% OF AMAZON DEFORESTATION IS CAUSED BY ANIMAL AGRICULTURE - PRIMARILY CATTLE-RANCHING AND THE GROWING OF SOY, THE MAJORITY OF WHICH IS FED TO LIVESTOCK. THE AMAZON IS LITERALLY BURNING AND OUR ENVIRONMENT IS ON THE BRINK.
but STILL you selfish fucks are out here acting like animal ag. isnât a problem, that animal ag. isnât to blame. youâre still out here acting like whining about the amazon on tumblr, signing a petition and posting anti-vegan memes is whatâs going to save the planet. spoiler warning: IT WONâT. still youâre out here insisting that you couldnât possibly even think about thinking about thinking giving up meat or reducing your intake, for [insert one of a million of provably bullshit exuses here]. we know what the problem is, we know what a big part of the solution is. if you care about the planet, even a little bit, go vegan. if you canât go vegan, reduce your intake of animal products as much as possible, particularly of beef. PLEASE. for the love of god
Amazon fires
This isnât he first time the forest has been ablaze. People have been intentionally burning it for honest to god as long as I have breathed air on this earth. As idiotic and detrimental as it is, some people will destroy the world to turn a profit.
80% of regular rainforest destruction is done to flatten land and create cattle grazing feilds and grow mono crops to feed to these âlivestockâ animals. This is the worst case scenario. People would rather live life sustained on blood and oil rather than make lifestyle changes. Yes, I know individual action seems futile, and the world looks like itâs going to end no matter what we do.
I refuse to believe that nothing we do matters. Every single choice we make supports or opposes these industrial practices that happen on global levels. The governments are owned by corporations, money literally makes the world go around. If enough people opened their eyes to the reality that history is happening, and currently, this may be the biggest turn of events in the history of the human race. Hell, the history of the planet, itâs entire well being is at stake.
As humans, intelligent beings that conquered this earth, of all the variety we have we are all the same down to our bones. The privileged among us have the most important opportunities to make our voices heard. To make choices that donât support the destruction of he planet, the subjugation of our fellow people, of the original inhabitants of these lands, of the animals, of the nature of the world itself.
Life has value beyond measure. We take it for granted everyday. We lay to waste the things, to the people, we deem less than. To the people who can see the bigger picture, who understand that we have the ability to make humanity a helpful and kind species, please donât be afraid. Please, we need you now more than ever to help turn the tides and save this planet, before it really is too late.
Do your research. Speak the truth. Make choices that donât support cruelty. Donât aim to be âless badâ, keep trying to be the best you can possibly achieve with what little time we have.
Please. Only individuals can make their own choices. Together we can revive what was so stupidly tossed aside. We have the power as collective individuals to speak and be heard, everything is changing. There is no way to keep on going the way we are. We must make changes. We are the future, and the future of humanity, depends on us.
The Inga tree can fix atmospheric nitrogen into the soil, providing more fertile soil, reducing soil erosion, and rebuilding biodiversity.

More than a hundred indigenous communities that shun contact with white people in the Brazilian Amazon are faced with the growing danger of
Discovering Brazil requires having a detailed map to hand, but in much of its immense territory the actual kilometers are irrelevant: what counts is the time it takes to reach oneâs destination. On this occasion, that destination is an enclave that serves as a gateway to the universe of the uncontacted Indians: namely, Atalaia do Norte, a city located in a corner of the western Brazilian Amazon. Here you can find both those who protect the uncontacted tribes and those who threaten them. It is the starting point for those in possession of the requisite permit to enter the Yavari Valley indigenous reserve, home to more isolated indigenous tribes than anywhere else on Earth. Getting there means flying to Manaus to connect with the daily flight to Tabatinga, 1,000 kilometers to the west. From there, you take a river cab along the Amazon River and then a land cab to complete the journey. But it was only when we arrived at the hotel, and saw the map of the area hanging at the reception desk, that we realized that those last two hours by cab represented a laughable distance compared to the immensity of the valley ahead of us, replete with the mysteries of its inhabitants.
