I have beef with the 2021 “Amazon” Cinderella and here’s why…
I'm so tired of big names creating new Cinderella movies that are just the Disney-punk not-like-other-girls "feminist" version instead of, idk, highlighting and uplifting innovative retellings of the classic fairy tales
searched for ‘#amazon cinderella’ here on tumblr since i just watched it and wanted to see some gifs of dialogue i found funny but people were just literally hating on the movie, pointing out all the bad parts and mistakes they made with costumes and characters and whatever… did you guys watch it so seriously? like isn’t it meant to be watched sarcastically??? i mean yeah it sucked but that was part of what was funny about it. come on, how can you hate on billy porter as fabolous fairy godmother??? and the fact that robert is clearly gay (or bi) the way he’s bantering with his “best mate” (that he calls “beautiful human”). that’s hilarious!!! and seven nation army at the ball i mean cooooome on, it’s fantastic!!! live a little, everything doesn’t have to be perfect to enjoy it
Princess and the Frog had more girlboss material within the first 5 min compared to the entirety of whatever Amazon Cinderella was trying to go for
