I've seen the saying "it may be shit but at least it's not AI" a lot.
While I like that saying because it recognizes that as humans we create imperfect things slowly over time... I am seeing that mindset weaponized against notes for improvement or change.
Don't let yourself be comfortable with 'shit' just because it's not AI. Work on yourself, your craft. Improve and get better. Creativity moves forward, as humans we grow and adapt while AI is stuck in the past only able to show variations of what once was made.
Maybe a better phase should be "It may be shit right now, but it's not AI."
Give yourself the room to grow and change for the better, you will be amazed with what you accomplish.
#tre rambling again#mostly based on tiktoks on my feed#I'm so over ai#oh we can't critize things because it's at least not AI#no we can make notes on art on work politely and in the proper spaces#that's how artists have improved for centuries#I cried in my art classes being told what's wrong with my stuff#but guess what#I went back to my dorm and apartment and redid it#took the notes to heart and got better#you can't improve if you think you are perfect#if you're not willing to risk being bad you won't be good#my render work was such a risk but damn I love it now#it was clumsy and I have a bunch of stuff that I never posted because it's crude and rough#but I got there#I didn't let myself exist where I was comfortable#I stretched and grew to be better#and I still have so long to go too#but that is life#that is art#always looking forward#looking to improve#anti ai#fandom ranting
