At some point, both Godzilla and Mothra hear of how Trapper's been treating the apes (as well as other titans) for checkup, more specifically, dental care. Shin has too many overgrown teeth, and he is actually growing new ones, which causes him a lot of pain and discomfort. For some reference, imagine it's a bit like on how the Deviljho grows way too many teeth to the point that they even got teeth on their chin (yes, those aren't chin spikes, those are teeth)

So Godzilla and Mothra seek Trapper out so that he can take a look at Shin too. Though of course, they only do this once Shin fully consents to it and there's no problems leaving any time if he gets too uncomfortable.

Cue Trapper checking on Shin while in a full hazmat suit, while both Godzilla and Mothra stay by Shin's side as emotional support.

Oh, it did get sent the first time! Inbox has just been popping lately, so things will get buried, sorry! Huh, been an age since I played MHS2 but that name sounds familiar, gimme a sec... *one google later* Oh yeah, that critter!

Trapper: Oh hey, big fella! You're looking much better than the last pictures I saw of you, you're really growing into a handsome lad!

Shin: *confused noise* (What is he saying?)

Mothra: (He says you're very handsome.)

Goji: (And he's damn right!)

Trapper: Oh bugger me, that's a lot of chompers... gums and flesh are swollen... I hate to say it, big man, but we might have to put you under anesthesia to get all the excess teeth out. You might feel a pinch but it won't hurt, I promise! You'll just be sleepy for a while!

Shin: *concerned groaning*

Goji: (He's going to give you something that'll make you sleep.)

Shin: (Something... pointy? Hurt?)

Mothra: (Just a pinch. No hurt.)

Shin: (...don't want to see.)

[Mothra rests on Shin's head and covers his eyes with her wings.]

Goji: (Better?)

Shin: (...a little...)

Trapper: There's a brave lad, just like mum and pop. Easy does it now... careful... there you go. You're braver than I am, you know that? Getting lab work done still gives me the willies! Now we're just gonna let it work through the system, aaaaaand... night-night, sweet prince!

[The next thing Shin knows, he blinks and suddenly the procedure is done. In actuality it took most of a whole day.]

Mothra: (See? You did so well!)

Goji: *happy grunt* (That's my boy!)

7. The Sorcerer’s Apprentice (the magic in this... it’s so creative; and there’s glowy things!!)

It took 91 years for Kong to finally get the white woman and live.

But wait, there's more! Before certain people come out and say that those aspects have been "retconned", Godzilla is shown to be sleeping peacefully at the Roman Colosseum in GxK, and in the novelization, it flat out says that he sleeps there because misses his old temple at KOTM and that he might still have a soft spot for people. Not to mention in GxK in general, Godzilla clearly has a connection with the Hollow Earth Iwi tribe. Who are, you know, humans.

Also Monarch: Legacy of Monsters further reaffirms that Godzilla is ultimately a benevolent being who's just doing his job keeping titans and humans from harming each other.

If people can accept the idea of a giant apes being benevolent protectors with zero strings attached, then there should be no problems accepting that the giant lizard is exactly like that too, especially because there's been no real evidence to say otherwise (and again, like the examples I've shown and mentioned, they actually further prove that Godzilla is indeed a benevolent protector and that Serizawa / Monarch, as well as other people who similarly trust in him like Shaw, is right to trust in him). And if people say that it can't be the case because "rEpTiLeS cAn'T fEeL fEeLiNgS jUsT LiKe MaMmAlS cAn", well then I am sorry to say, but Mothra disproves that just by existing.

Because hey, if you make a false equivalent between these fictional giant monsters and real life animals they took inspiration from, then by that same logic, Mothra should be an emotionless thing that acts only based on instincts and self-preservation because she's a giant insect. But she doesn't, and she's a genuine protector who also goes out of her way to avoid killing (even sparing those who attack her whenever she can) and in GxK, she even goes out of her way to save humans. Not even Kong did that in the movie btw, and if anything, the movie shows that Kong accidentally kills some humans in Egypt.

But yeah. It's really exhausting how these people just keeps reducing Godzilla's more nuanced character traits. Especially since Godzilla has always been a sympathetic character going as far back as the original 1954 movie (though Heisei era is the best example of that), but for some reason, these people now suddenly have a problem with that just because Godzilla shares screentime with Kong. And in these people's logic, Kong is Good because he's mammal and therefore relatable, while Godzilla is BAD because he's reptile and therefore "not relatable".

It just really sucks to see them humanize Kong (and in many cases, turn him into a literal saint) while at the same time, reducing Godzilla to just a dumb animal when they're both intelligent and sympathetic but flawed individuals.

Also your comparisons of MV Godzilla to Doomguy and cats is very on-point. All three of them may look and act prickly at first, but there's more to them than just that and if you actually take your time to look past that and get to know them better while respecting their space, they're actually not bad at all. And in the case of both Godzilla and cats, it's kind of like intruding into an introvert's personal space and acting constantly annoying to them, and then getting mad and calling them a jerk once they show signs of wanting you to leave them alone.

(About Matt Frank's post, I took another look at it and he deleted the initial post, probably because of all the backlash he got from it since he misunderstood MV Godzilla's character hard. And in case you're curious on what the post said, it's something on the lines of something like "It's great that MV Godzilla is just an aggro jerkface in the whole movie (GxK) for NO reason at all and I'm all for it").

(That said, his follow-up replies to that are still there and they're still not the best takes. Here they are, for anyone who doesn't have access to that hellish site.)

Yeeeep, this is why I stay as much as possible away from the Twitter and especially the fandom side of Reddit; in fact, there are very specific reasons I would venture into those lawless depths: Check if anyone else has run into a game bug I've encountered and any workarounds for it, or fun gifs I just happened to spy on a Google Image search.

And you know, maybe it's because I just woke up, but to those who demonize Godzilla, I'm about to do something fuckin' hilarious with my power as a fic writer with my own canon at my fingertips. Check this shit out: In an AbraxasVerse take of GxK, when Godzilla is napping in the Colosseum and the authorities are like "what the fuck do we do," who rolls up but THE ACTUAL POPE to welcome the giant napping Nukasaurus Rex and be like "This is a beast of god who protects our world. I talked about this the last time he saved us, did you not listen to my sermon last Mass? For shame. Let the noble beast rest. Amen." Not in those exact words, but yeah.
