slight spoilers for Arcane Odyssey ahead. (i have no clue if this is actually spoilers but there are always ppl who are gunna b new to the game so.)
so. SOOSOSOSOOSOS. Arcane Odyssey, yeah???? haha funny pirate game???? WRONG. IT'S SO MUCH MORE THAN JUST A PIRATE GAME. THE LORE MAKES ME SOB. THE CHARACTER DYNAMICS ARE SO WELL THOUGHT OUT. THE BOSS FIGHTS ARE AMAZING. IT'S LITERALLY MY FAVORITE GAME OH MY GOD.
anyway meet my guy, Oliver Hill. (ignore how he's. Oliver. i was rushing to start this game and just named him after myself.)
he's a Savant with more points put into magic. mains Lightning Magic with Water Magic as the first awakening thingy. uses a bow and dual wields swords when the magic ain't enough. he's my baby and i genuinely gasp every time new lore is revealed.
he's also a Hero w/ a fame of like. 10k. it WAS over 13k but then some fucking bastard killed me for no reason. i was minding my own business on Shell Island and this fucking bastard just came up to me and started fighting me. and i haven't actually fought anything in a while (i haven't played this game in like. a month.) so i'm a bit rusty. and then he killed me. AND THEN HE FUCKING STARTED TO KILL ME AGAIN AS SOON AS I RESPAWNED. SO I COMBAT LOGGED, CUZ WHAT ELSE AM I FUCKING SUPPOSED TO DO THERE??? HE'S MORE SKILLED THAN ME AND WHEN I TRIED RUNNING AWAY HE HAD A FRIEND GO AFTER ME. SO NOW MY FAME HAS GONE DOWN 3 FUCKING THOUSAND POINTS.

anyway. Arcane Odyssey is a wonderful game with wonderful lore. Some of the players just suck.
