#alpha dunk

Daeron: It's normal for babies, and Maegor is a big one.

It is a scandal to say the least. Baelor is amused, thinks it funny his nephew is dead set on duelling, but Maekar is another business.

The alpha is furious that his son had done such a thing, making a fool out of their family in front of so many lords and common people. Much more because Aerion has been ruining his matches for marriage, and he's already over the age where he was expected to marry. So he decides to send Aerion to the north.

"Let's see if the cold is enough to tame your so-called fire."

Aerion is enraged, but his father tells him he is going to mate him to the next knight that wins the tourney if he doesn't do as he says, no matter that there are hedge knights and commoners in the tourney.

Tells him Lord Stark is going to be in charge of him during his staying Winterfell, and that his return is yet to be discussed, or at least that he will stay there until he finds reason.

We jump to Northern knight Duncan who was trained under Lord starks reign. After Arlan died they were in Stark territory and he ended up becoming a knight there (there are almost no knights in the north bc they do not worship the seven gods so ...yeah, but Arlan knights him before diyng so thats why) working for Lord Stark until he got to be captain of his guard.

He is in good Graces with Lord Stark, Brandon who appoints him as shield of the new guest, having heard of his temperament, and knowing Dunk to be loyal and honourable.

What Aerion doesn't know is that his father in his disdain for his behaviour told Lord Stark he was free to give his son a mate if the occasion came to be, and who better to tame the dragon than the Captain of his guard.

This doesn't come naturally of course. Aerion tries his best to be displeasing until he corners Lord Stark's own will and makes Dunk's life as miserable as he can. He tries to escape several times and ends up with constant guards through the night so he can't leave again in the middle of it.

When lord Stark tries to make a match with him and one of his sons Aerion questions his power over him, humiliating Brandon in front of other so the alpha tells him his father gave his blessing to anything he decides, making Aerion spiral as he realizes what he got himself into when he entered that tourney.

Aerion distraught at being literally tossed to the side by his family, and after failed attempts to ask his uncle for help, decides to go into the woods alone. Better to die free than live a life in shame. He gets lost while the whole keep goes into a panic about the missing prince. Dunk is the one leading the search party and he ends up saving Aerion's life after the prince falls through the ice of a lake.

Brandon grants him lordship for his bravery, and bc he seems to be the only alpha capable of containing Aerion he decides to match them. Aerion falls sick after his trip into the woods and is a month after when he is well that they get married in the godswood.

While sick, Duncan takes care of him, nursing him back to health and in that month is were their prickly dynamic starts to mellow.

Aerion feeling abandoned is distraught yet completely taken with the knight taking such gentle care of him, feeling like Duncan is the only person who has ever fought to keep him close despite his actions and attitude.

Duncan sees beyond the prince's attitude and the complicated feelings he had about him since he stepped into the keep. An omega so outlandish that his own father sent him away, spoiled and whimful. He found him beautiful since he laid eyes on him, despite their initial hatred he realised they had found Comfort in one another.

Dunk who will not go away no matter what Aerion does and the omega who despite his words always looks for his presence inside the room.

Duncan doesn't tell Aerion about their match thinking the prince will try to end his life or escape once more, but Aerion overhears some maids talking about how they're just waiting for him to get better so his wedding may proceed.

Aerion in panic asks Duncan to leave with him one night. Tells him he would much rather live outside court with him than marry some unknown northern lord, bc surely Brandon reached out to the worst kind of alpha that could be out there someone strict and violent who will not hesitate to put him in his "place".

Duncan gets offended, then confused, then he simply tells Aerion to sleep that things will be alright. Aerion is heartbroken but he will not beg and he will not try to escape, he goes throughout the last of his recovering before the big day.

He's the dragon reborn, there's no fucking way his scent mate would be a lowborn from Flea Bottom. There has to be some mistake.

Meanwhile, Dunk, who's never been taught about scent mates or how this thing works, just thinks Aerion smells better than the other omegas he's met. But he also knows his place, so he doesn't pursue him in any way.

As the weeks pass, Aerion starts getting more restless because Dunk is there all the time, spewing that amazing disgusting scent of his everywhere around the castle as if purposefully taunting Aerion and shoving their bond on his face. And at the same time, he doesn't move a muscle to claim Aerion, never breaks the proper, honorable knight façade.

from Dunkaerion:

first of all, they're all gigantic, to the point that every time Aerion gets pregnant whole castle is worried (Maekar tried to interfere once, trying to talk some sense into him, but Aerion clocked him that he had 8 kids so he's not really an example)

their first grandchild, Saera, was born in Lys and nobody had a clue until Aerion came back for his brothers wedding. considering who birthed her, she's actually a very sweet and outgoing girl, with those Targs hair and big blue eyes (she was lowkey spoiled by Maekar, that's his first grandbaby)

then came Maegor, who's thankfully very different from the og Maegor... he's shy, not very talkative, often hiding behind his parents when they're out in public. I wanna say he's got mixed Targs and dark blonde hair and also those puppy eyes (blue but also kinda violet yk) (Baelor is very fond of him actually)

I wanted them to have twins but Aerion might not survive that one 😭 so next up is Visenya, who's inherited Aerion's unhinged personality and is his mini me, but she also picked Baelor as her favourite (much to his horror) and is constantly looking for him

and fourth (and the last one for now 😭) is Aerea (I picked this name bc it sounds similar to Aerion, AND her story is so interesting), and it's ironic because she's almost Dunk's twin, although she's the tiniest of their babies (wait maybe she should have purple eyes?) she's also heard way too much stories about hedge knights from Egg and currently wants to become one (much to Aerion's horror)

so yeah, three daughters and one son, at least for now...

from Valaeron:

they had kids late in their marriage, when Daeron was ready to do it, and then they had twins on their first try...

so twin boys, they both resemble Valarr most, with mismatched eyes and their hair being a mix of brown and white (much to Valarr's disappointment, he wanted them to look like Daeron), and I have no clue how to name them, maybe Baelon to honor Baelor? I mean, he's alive here but still? or maybe they went DIY, like Maenys, Rhaelor, Vaeron? I truly don't know

Older twin, despite being the heir, is actually closer to Daeron, always asking about his dreams. he's trying to act responsible and honorable, but actually is very worried about the future and doesn't really think he's suited for the crown (he doesn't share this with his parents, not wanting to disappoint them, but at some point he tells Baelor and they bond over it I guess?)

Younger twin inherited some of Daeron's dreams but like in a smaller scale? I imagine him as kinda cat-like, grumpy, often napping during the day, also writing his dreams in a diary. but despite that, he's also keen on participating in tournaments (kinda like Valarr his age)

and then a girl, obv Vaella (Maekar's favourite btw), she's still a sweet girl, I wanna say kinda living in her own world, I mean, not really that different in personality than canon ig, she's also a few years younger than her brothers, at least 5, so maybe that's also telling when it comes to their family dynamic?

I think it's obvious about who was I thinking more 😭

This will be the name of my omegaverse akotsk series! Baelor and Maekar are the parents of Baelor’s two children and Maekar’s six children in this verse.

Planned fics so far:

- Alpha Baelor x Omega Maekar: after the trial Maekar has a dream that he had harmed his brother worse than the gash on the back of his head. A piece of his skull sloughed off with the helmet and Maekar awoke with a scream
