Haven't been on Tumblr much lately but I have some updates:
-In December I ran out of appeals on my disability case. 3 years wasted.
-January I reapplied
-April I was informed that I had to attend 2 appointments in person, a psych and a physical exam. I had no say in the providers or time. The appointments were within 3 weeks of each other.
-The psych exam I was able to take medical transport, which went fine. The shrink was kind but the office was an oven. I had to use extra energy I didn't have to rinse the sweat off when I got home
-Between appointments I had a minor, urgent oral surgery that ended up with a complication. I had to go back in hours before my physical to get a piece of bone removed.
-Physical was scheduled for 6:30pm which is about the time mt stops, meaning I would have no ride home. Thankfully my roommate was able to get out of work just in time to take me there and back. I was super stressed about this one because of the last physical I had for disability. This one was completely different! Dr was also kind and empathetic, they mostly just talked to me.
-I have only just started to feel mostly back to baseline in the last week or 2. I paced well enough that I didn't crash as hard as I could have. Made me super depressed for a while though. My D&D group, my only social outlet at the time, disbanded suddenly right after so that didn't help.
-GOOD NEWS! In June I won my SSI! I'm not done with the paperwork. They keep messing up and stiffing me but my lawyer is helping me fix it.
-I got my backpay from January last week. Bought myself some new bedding because threadbare did not do the old ones justice.
So TLDR; I won but it was a rough road to get there. Don't give up!
