When Barry wakes up, Haven is already getting dressed.
He sits up, rubbing one eye groggily. “Hey,” he mumbles, smiling sleepily.
Haven turns her attention to him and smiles, that smile that’s only for him. Her cheshire cat grin, but softer, more open. Like she’s sharing a secret. Or a joke that only he’s in on. “Good morning,” she says.
He doesn’t say anything, just studies her, so she goes back to getting dressed, and it takes a second for him to realize that she’s reaching for his shirt and not her own.
“Is that my shirt?”
“Mhm.” She tugs it over her head.
“And you’re wearing it because…” His smile doesn’t fade, just shifts into something playful.
“Because I like it,” she replies carelessly.
“Don’t you have one just like it?” It’s his S.T.A.R. labs shirt, plain blue with the acronym printed in big block letters.
“Yeah, but I want this one. Mine fits me.”
“And that’s bad?”
Haven doesn’t answer directly. “I like this one because people can tell it’s yours.” She steps over to him, leaning over to level his face with his.
“I want people to know you’re mine,” she murmurs, her lips brushing against his.
Her face is hardly an inch from his. She’s got one hand braced on the mattress next to him, and he feels trapped in the best way. He lets his eyes slip shut.
“Okay,” he says softly, smiling. “You can keep the shirt.”
