hghghsghahdhdgh yeah god. dunno if you've gotten to it yet (if you haven't then warning bc i will be getting into spoilers in a bit) but especially konoe's arc imagining akechi there for that makes me so feral and gives me so much brainrot like god. screaming and gnashing of teeth.

like could you just imagine it. someone who wants control over others who akechi can sympathize with? someone who has done evil in the name of justice, who wants to be a hero, who was abused by his father? who's being used by a politician for his own ends? who was a victim but took things too far in retaliation? who went astray not because he was inherently evil, but because he was alone?

could you imagine the character growth akechi could show by being the one to reach out to konoe. to tell him it's not too late, that he was alone, but he can still become his own hero. to stop letting other people control his destiny.

I wish I knew the answer to that, but I’ve found that the best way to combat it is to be an example of decent behavior yourself and show courtesy and respect to everyone.  People often find those things more attractive than good looks, whether they’re willing to admit it or not.

And if you happen to be courteous and good-looking, you can expect others to find you irresistible.  Take it from me.

You know, I’m not sure she does? If she could, yes, this would absolutely inspire Pearl’s envy, but I get the feeling Franziska’s more geared towards battle than the other magical kids in this AU - the Karuma dimension is harsher, better designed for conquest than Khura’in or Kurain. As I’ve mentioned before, Franziska’s powers work differently than the other kids’ in that her attacks can cause damage to the world around her, making her more dangerous than them. I think her disguise form is actually just herself as a regular human - that’s something that tends to happen with villainous or starting-out-villainous characters in magical girl stories anyway, so it works.

I think she can grant other people access to magic if she wishes to, though, in the Karuma dimension it’s referred to as picking a champion, and, given that the previous ruler was Manfred, it’s probably viewed as a somewhat feeble ability, with using it meaning you’re too weak to do things without help. Franziska’s view on this slowly shifts over the course of the story, though she hasn’t chosen any champions yet herself - she doesn’t feel ready to.
