Ooh! I really love the backstory! I’m curious to see how she would react if/when she finds out about the spirit that saved her.
She actually didn’t know until Solas told her. Marikit is not attuned with spirits, she grew up in the Circle w/ Chantry teachings. She felt something was off, but she brushed it off as the fact that she walked out of the Fade physically.
Solas knew from the minute they met. He assumed she did, but he was shocked that she had no idea. One day he just decides to tell her and Marikit didn’t take it too well. She’s not religious, she’s more on the agnostic side but she believed she was an abomination and that she was going to get corrupted. It takes a LONG time for her to accept the spirit and for them to work in harmony. It’s part of her development.
Her having a spirit in her is also the source of conflict in her and Vivienne’s friendship. They both have the same views wrt Circle so she kept it from Vivienne. I’m going to use her having the spirit as a way to ease Vivienne (and Cullen too) into understanding more. But Cullen did know first because Solas convinced Marikit to let the advisors know. Cullen had some time to get acquainted and understand the idea.
The sad thing about all of this is she did end up becoming close friends with Solas because he helped her so much with the spirit. Then you know what happens lol :(
