Does anyone remember the Pokegod rumors? I sure as shit do. It's pretty vivid. I was on the playground, watching a few friends trade Pokemon on red and blue when I over heard a group of younger kids say something about Pokegods. We made fun of them because it sounded silly (we were kids) but after school i immediately looked it up on the internet.
When dial-up internet was the way to go and fangame websites weren't a quarter a dozen, the naivety of new information onlookers was at an all time high... I was one of these onlookers. All this information! Why would it be fake! I'm looking at a screenshot right now!
...it has to be real!
Above are pictures comparing the old Pokegods rumor to the current Pokemon X,Y Mega Pokemon evolutions. It's obvious there is no connection between the two, but it's awesome to imagine. It seems so far-fetched now, but at the time I was convinced it was true that there were Pokegods!
I'm just glad I lived long enough to see the legend come true... well, almost...
