On the first day back to work after your honeymoon, Michinari’s ties were still messily bundled into his drawer and your three most used pairs of pants were still in the hamper. You were hit with hurricane get-ready-for-work.

It was pure chaos, you trying to find a clean pair of pants and running around in just your panties and a blouse, while Michinari stood in the bathroom with your hair straightener to try and iron his tie, totally ignoring the fact that his hair looked like it could double as a bird’s nest.

At some point, about eight minutes later than planned, the two of you hurried out the door, only to run back because a) you walked out in your house slippers and b) Michinari forgot to put a jacket on. Maybe you had honeymooned a bit too hard.

As you separated at the school entrance, he headed up the stairs to the third-year wing while you took the short walk to the first-year wing, and the refreshing smell of sweat and cheap perfume welcomed you back to work.

The first day was tough. You were so used to relaxing and seeing your husband all the time now that you forgot the tough life of teaching high school students. The new first-years were especially rowdy, and you taught one of the classes that were typically expected to get lower grades, so the number of groans in math class wasn’t exactly encouraging.

But a small motivation came in the shape of your husband, who just happened to pass by as you headed to the break room and smiled brightly. “Mrs. Akagi,” he greeted you, making numerous students stop and whisper to each other.

“Mr. Akagi,” you responded, tipping your head politely and giving him a subtle wink. You’d sort out your everyday lives eventually, but right now you’d enjoy the thrill of being newlyweds.

"Akagi-Sensei, there's someone at the door for you."

"Thank you. I'm going to be back right away, so no funny business."

Michinari Akagi jogs over to the doors of the Gym, half expecting the Vice Principal to check in on him. Instead, he comes face to face with you, grinning.

"Hey!" He swallows nervously, "What are you doing here?"

"You forgot your lunch." You hold up a Bento Box. "Just wanted to make sure you don't go hungry."

"Oh, eh, sure, thank you." Michinari rubs the back of his head, blushing. "You look... You look good."

You smile, doing a little twirl. "I know, right? That shopping trip last Sunday was really worth it."

"Was that your wife?" One of his students asks five minutes later when the door is safely closed again.

"I-uh... Yeah." He stutters, grateful you're just roommates and not coworkers too. You'd never live him down that lie. But he can be manifesting, right?

"What are you doing?" Michinari asks, a popsicle in each hand.

"Trying to melt into the Couch," you groan, head buried under a pillow."

"Is it working?"

"Not really. Do we have stronger painkillers at home? I need something to knock me out."

"You want me to call Kita? I'm sure he can tell you a story that puts you to sleep."

Your head appears, a pout visible on your lips. "I will not stand for any Kita slander in this house. Oh, is that popsicle for me?"

"Of course, like I'd dare to eat one without sharing." He hands you one before taking a seat on your outstretched legs. You snort and wiggle your toes under his butt.

"Comfortable?"

"Very."

Your face is mushed against his bicep, your arms slung around his back. If he keeps his eyes closed, he can stretch out this moment.

"'chi?" You ask, waking him up half an hour later. When he blinks he notices that your eyes are closed as well. Are you feeling the same way?

"Yeah?"

"Do you wanna go on a date? Preferably in the evening, because I need a few more hours of sleep first."

"Ah," he jokes, heart beating in his throat, "I thought we already went on a date?"

"I thought I'm worth more than a 'cup noodles on the couch'-kind of date?" He can hear the pout in your voice, leans in until his lips brush against yours.

"You are. But don't deny that that's the best kind of date."

suna would be the clingiest baby in the room

straight up waddles to your legs and sleeps on top of your feet

you had to carry him around because HE DOESNT STOP SLEEPING

kita, omimi and aran were the most diligent kids, you just had to tell them to sit and wait and they’ll do follow you in an instant

akagi was so ENERGETIC. like SUPER ENERGETIC

it doesn’t help with the fact osamu just wacked atsumu on the head

and now atsumu is crying while osamu shrugs

it has been like.. 10 minutes and you are surrounded with DISASTER

gin was too adorable to be scolded by so you pat him on the head while taking his hand to where the diligent trio was

when you tried laying suna under your jacket to act as a comforter he just squirms and cries

damn you really had no choice

so you went on with the twins, asking osamu to apologize to his brother

“samu, please apologize to atsumu.”

he shakes his head in reply

immediately takes it back when you throw daggers at him

“i-i’m.. sowwy.. tsumu..”

“hmph!”

“WHY ARE YA GIVIN MWE THAT LOOK?!!”

osamu wails, “Y/NN!! TSUMU DONT WANNA LISTEN TO MWEE!!!!!!”

“oi, stowp it. the both of ya are stwessin’ our manager up!” kita argues, feeling his childish side dominating his own

you felt suna snuggling onto your chest further, and you coo at how his small hands tightly grip onto your jacket

akagi runs to where you are and pokes your leg, gaining your attention

“hm? what’s wrong?”

he raises his hands upward to you, “up! up!”

you happily comply by reaching your other arm to lift him up

now you have two babies on your arms

“NO FAIR! I WANT TO BE CARRIED BY Y/N TOO!!!!” tsumu whines, having osamu trail behind him while the rest of the team surrounds you

they all have their doe eyes boring onto your soul as if they’re asking for you to carry them too

eventually atsumu tries to climb you like a godamn tree

when he falls back down and fails osamu calls him stupid

“baka.”

atsumu cries again

you sweatdrop from how easily the twins fight

unfortunately kita couldn’t do anything about it either since he’s still waiting for you to carry him in your arms

they’re all mentally asking for your attention

while you were trying to distract them from their desperation suna wakes up with a small groan

he then notices akagi on your other arm

he’s basically fumed. eyebrows scrunched

shamelessly smacks akagi away and he starts crying

you halt at wtf just happened

then you realize suna’s hand layed out and akagi caressing his arm

you grunt, “suna! who told you that you can do that?”

he just hmphs, not giving a damn

for him to learn his lesson, you lay suna down to the ground with akagi still in your arms

LMAOOOOO imagine the sudden confusion he’s feeling

suna freezes

he looks up at you with desperate, sad eyes like a lost puppy

“AHAAHAHAHAHAHA!! THAT’S WHAT YA GET!!!” atsumu laughs out loud while pointing at suna, who bites his finger in an instant

“SUUUUUUUUUNNNAAAAAAAAAAAA!!! THAT HUUUUUUUUUUUUURTSSSSSS..!!!!”

“hehe..”

akagi just pouts and circles his arms tight around your neck :((

“it’s alright baby, i’m here.” you reassure him while having a hand patting his back

then you felt multiple tugs on the bottom of your pants

when you looked down you saw THEM ALL

    “michi, come on, hurry up! it’s going to start at any moment!” you excitedly call out for your husband, who laughs as he carries the blanket and two comforters from inside. akagi watches as you bounce up and down with a smile on his face, having laid the checkered quilt on the soft grass of the hill.

    “i got it, honey. i’m here, so is the blanket, so sit down.”

    you do as he says, plopping on the ground and laying next to him—he puts his arm under your head to support you and you scooch closer, squishing your cheek against his chest. he lets out another chuckle that makes his ribcage vibrate and the corners of your lips curve upwards in a soft smile.

    “you’re very enthusiastic about this,” your husband notes—his tone is amused, yet gentle and loving. it makes your heartbeat a little faster and you raise your head, resting your chin on his chest. “hello there,” he continues, a warm hand coming to stroke your hair and you nuzzle into his palm.

    “hi,” you whisper back. “and of course i am. we haven’t had time to stargaze together in so long, michi!” you’re supposed to sound irritated, maybe a little mad, but the only effect it has over your husband is that it makes a hearty laugh reverberate in his chest. you puff your cheeks out in protest, but he squishes them in his hand, your lips puckering in the process—he moves a little to place a kiss on them, eyes full of adoration.

    “you should turn around, then. the first perseid already passed us,” he advises and allows you to adjust your body. the arm under you moves to rest on your waist, his palm caressing your side as he holds you close to him.

    it’s just you, him, the wind and the sky.

    you point out as many perseids as you can, even counting them at some point, as you giggle and make up silly stories about them—they’re a child’s wish for a whale in his backyard, or fairy dust from the great fairy queen when she sneezed that one time, or some celestial god’s celestial cat broke a celestial vase and the perseids are celestial shards. akagi leans his head on the comforter, eyes closed as he listens to the breeze swishing the branches and leaves of the old willow tree behind you, as well as your explanations for the falling stars, perfectly content with the way things turned out.

    if he recalls correctly, he befriended you during one of inarizaki’s training camps—it was late at night and he couldn’t sleep, so he decided to grab a glass of warm milk and go watch the stars from the balcony. what he didn’t expect was you, clad in a t-shirt too big for you and with a blanket on your shoulder, gazing fondly at the night sky. you didn’t notice him at first, too absorbed in tracing constellations—he sat down next to you and you registered his presence when he sipped on his milk. none of you said a word back then—akagi silently offered you a sip of his milk as you raised the blanket so he could fit under it. you resumed watching the tiny sparkly dots, eyelids getting heavier by the second. before you fell asleep, you whispered “thank you” and he whispered “no problem” back, smiling slightly. to this day, he has no idea what exactly you thanked him for, but he can guess that it had to do something with viewing the stars together.

    a soft snore startles him out of his reverie and he snorts, knowing without looking that you’ve fallen asleep on him—he doesn’t know if it’s the stars or him that make you pass out so easily. he settles for a combination of both. gently shaking you so he can move you around, he wraps you in the blanket like a burrito and hoists you in his arms. he can get the comforters some other time—they’re ugly anyway, nobody’ll miss them.

    with a kiss to your forehead and a silent “i love you, my little star”, he brings you back inside, thanking the night sky for bringing you together all these years ago.

    the perseid shower stops—the north star shines just the tiniest bit brighter, flickering behind him.

SUNA , i see him playing the violin or clarinet to be honest (possibly percussionist?). he'd be that one kid in orchestra/band who is always prepared with his notes, but that's because he barley touches them. but despite not always practicing his ass off, this guy still plays god like. if you touch or even dare to look at his instrument, he will give you the death glare. he treats it as if it's his child because he already knows he isn't ready for a real one. with reeds for his clarinet, he doesn't know when he needs a new one until his instructor or classmate tells him. but when he does know, he usually forgets. "reeds got nothing on me," actually they do suna, you need it to play your instrument.

ATSUMU , trumpet !!! or any brass instrument in general. maybe even the trombone? he loves making noise, and by noise i mean random high/low notes to kill the eardrums of his fellow band mates around him. but in all seriousness, atsumu is actually really good once he gets the hang of it. not a prodigy or anything, believe me (and osamu), he was awful on his first note. sounded like a screeches cat. if he plays the trombone, i know for a fact that he'd use the slide in front of people on purpose. not all the time though, like suna, he protects his instrument with his whole heart.

OSAMU , he could totally be a trumpet player like his twin brother, but he decides not to. plus, he wouldn't want to be in the same seating section as him just so he could annoy the heck out of him. i think osamu would play the french horn. he isn't the best at it, but he's pretty good. he wouldn't take it as a career though, just a flex. he also loves the design of the instrument, that's what drew him in the first place. but who can blame him? the french horn is a beauty!

KITA , oh my... kita could play any instrument and be decent at it, he just needs to learn the basics. i see kita playing either the piano, or the cello. i don't know much about string instruments, but they just scream kita shinsuke to me. he practices a lot and takes it very seriously. he's always up to tutor his peers, his patience isn't as low so don't worry! he's up for challenges, but there are times where he gets stuck too. i imagine kita writing cute notes on his music sheet, but his writing is very clear and neat. they help him remember if he ever forgets.

ARAN , he has got to play the tuba. personally, i don't headcanon aran playing a string instrument i don't think he'd be able to adjust himself to it. kita has already tried to teach him, but it's frustrating:/ all brass players usually sit at the back in band, either the last or the last to second row. aran actually doesn't mind it, plus he feels more at ease since he isn't so close to the band instructor. once he's really into the song, he won't miss a single note or play it wrong. atsumu will praise him once in a while, he secretly looks up to aran in band since he's usually got his act together:)

AKAGI , he either a oboe player or a percussionist! my indecisive mind can't chose just one. like osamu, akagi probably wouldn't want to continue playing as a career. shifting to the percussionist side, if he ever heard someone telling him he was it "easy", he'll get visually upset. and pissed off. percussionist don't just stand there playing just the drums or whatever, no. they're job is to keep the tempo and if they're just a little bit off, it ruins the whole song. akagi takes it very seriously, but once in awhile he'll randomly play the crash symbols with atsumu in secret.

GINJIMA , i'm 120% sure he'd play the saxophone. he and atsumu are brass buddies- i know this is ginjima's part but atsumu gets along with everyone in band most of the time. moving on, he brings in energy during rehearsal and he loves to show off every chance he can. not that he tries to of course, the students younger than him look up to him a lot. whenever he gets stuck on a certain section though, ugh his frustration. he keeps reminding himself that he's got it and will even look up yt tutorials, do they help? not as much. so he musters up the courage to ask his director.

OMIMI , i'm just gonna go with the french horn for dear omimi. he and osamu are a perfect match together in band, and their seats are next to each other. both help each other out with notes, very reserved. it kind of upsets him when their peers go to osamu for help instead though. he promises that he's really not that scary! i couldn't really see omimi playing a loud, huge instrument. nor could i see him playing the flute as much, still possible though. believe it or not, band is actually a place for him to relax. well, not when atsumu is sneaking into the french horn section. his music sheets are very organized, he makes sure to always be on time with his instrument right out of it's case.

Prank Gone Wrong

Lunch had nearly finished. It was summer and the sunlight was glimmering through the window. A breeze flew in, cold and relaxing. You were sat upon your desk, watching as one of your friends shovelled food in their mouth, racing against time. At first you were smiling, but then as time passed, you realised your friend still hadn’t finished their food, and you were grinning. 

“Yumi-chan, calm down, you’re gonna choke—”

A sticky yet stringy substance had covered your hair. You gasped and your hand instantly went to your hair. You already knew what it was, and your expression morphed from shock to amusement as your eyes glanced over the culprit.

“Really, Akagi? Silly string?”

And he stood there, too embarrassed to move, eyes wide with disbelief. The sun shone upon him, glimmering on his hair, which, as always, was swept to the side. He put up his hands in the air innocently. He was still holding the can.

“I was aiming for Shinsuke! I did not mean to spray you with silly string! Y/N I am so sorry—”

You burst into laughter, voice booming through the classroom as the breeze  swept inside again. This was the one thing you were not expecting to happen at all. You were in your classroom and someone sprayed silly string on you.

“Why are you laughing?” Akagi giggled himself, swept up in your boisterous voice reverberating through your otherwise silent class. Everyone in your class had already caught wind of this ‘incident’, and were laughing themselves, including Kita and Ōmimi.

“Because,” you stopped laughing and instead, starting giggling instead, “silly string, really?”

“It was supposed to make Shinsuke mad,” he kept laughing in the middle of his words, “then we would see how angry he would get!”

You glanced at him and saw that he was flustered, his cheeks were dusted pink and he kept lazily smiling at you.

“Yeah, and all you get is everyone laughing, how old even are you?”

“Shut up,” he grinned, “you’re the one howling like a damn wolf. It’s not even funny!” he reasoned.

“Hey, you know what would make it funny?” Your eyes glimmered mischievously, and you inched closer to him. He seemed confused for a split second but as soon as you snatched the can from him, a look of fear replaced his puzzled one.

“Oi—”

You doused the top of his head with silly string (much more than he had sprayed on you), and laughter filled the room again. Your classmates were all giggling, revelling in this playful encounter of yours.

“Y/N! You didn’t have to do that~” he whined, and pouted at you.

“That was revenge.” You handed him his can of silly string. “Work on your aim, little Akagi,” you pranced over to your table after taunting him, giggling and smiling with the rest of your friends.

Yumi-chan still hadn’t finished her food.

Akagi Michinari x Reader

This isn't what Akagi had planned.

The hike up the mountain was supposed to end in basking in the sun and admiring the view of the land beneath; not covering under a tree as rain poured from the sky.

He pulls out grass stems and plays with them while listening to your ramblings about the coworker who keeps leaving dirty cups everywhere. You look adorable, your nose all scrunched up in annoyance as you recount how a cup found its way into the broom closet of all places. He snickers at how dramatic you make the story sound.

He loves that about you. How you speak of the most mundane things in a way that makes him howl with laughter. How even the simplest of your gestures are filled with affection. How being with you makes him find happiness in the smallest of things. 

Even the awkward talk following every fight, when you sit on the floor and both of your eyes are puffy and you sniffle as you try to understand what made the other upset, are a fond memory to him. A memory of a path walked together, a memory of growth, and a promise of a brighter future.

Almost 10 years, he thinks. Almost 10 years have passed from the day you walked into the classroom while he was in the middle of rigging teacher's table. Almost a decade since he took you to a caffee as an apology for getting you a week of detention. Almost a decade since he invited you to a summer festival and you took his hand because you were scared of losing him in the crowd. Almost a decade since he kissed you for the first time.

It scares him a little, the swift passage of time and how today turns into memory in a blink of an eye. It scares him, the thought of you one day being only a memory. It scares him that he can't do anything to prevent that.

He can only make the most of the time he has with you. He wants to be next to you when he falls asleep and when he wakes up. Today, tomorrow, and the day after.

He intertwines your fingers and looks at you in awe. How are you really his? How did he get so lucky to be able to love and be loved unconditionally?

The small ring of braided grass was made without a thought of purpose. He knows even one of gold adorned with the most precious of stones wouldn't be enough to convey his love properly. Only if you let him show it to you every single day for the rest of your lives then... then perhaps it would be enough. He raises your fingers to his lips before he asks.

You work in a small office managing a growing company’s finances. Your coworkers are all gossip lovers, and you had updated them lately of the process of moving in with your boyfriend, Akagi Michinari, which had spanned over the last few weeks before finally finishing yesterday. Because the company was so small, you all took time to chatter and create a nice environment throughout your workday, which of course often steered onto the topic of romantic partners. And no one was prouder of theirs than you.

While packing up your bags for the day, finished with all your tasks, one of your older coworkers walked through the door, announcing for everyone that “someone’s lovely boyfriend is outside and making us reconsider the quality of our own love lives,” as an affectionate complaint. It caught your attention how she was clearly aiming at you.

With a growing grin on your face, you sped up and slung your bag over your shoulder before waving goodbye to everyone as you made your way outside. There he stood, your lovely long-term boyfriend holding a fresh bouquet of your favourite flowers. He waved at you shortly, a bit shy as he had stood there for a little while.

“Michinari!” you cooed, embracing him in a hug before leaning back to kiss his lips. “I didn’t know you would be here!”
