       𝐄𝐘𝐄𝐒 𝐖𝐈𝐃𝐄𝐍 𝐈𝐍 𝐃𝐈𝐒𝐁𝐄𝐋𝐈𝐄𝐅 𝐅𝐎𝐑 𝐀 𝐌𝐎𝐌𝐄𝐍𝐓 ,  𝐇𝐄𝐀𝐃 𝐒𝐇𝐀𝐊𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐀𝐒 𝐒𝐇𝐄 𝐎𝐍𝐂𝐄 𝐀𝐆𝐀𝐈𝐍 𝐓𝐑𝐈𝐄𝐒 𝐓𝐎 𝐒𝐇𝐎𝐕𝐄 𝐇𝐈𝐒 𝐇𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐀𝐖𝐀𝐘.    ❝  fine?  excuse me, fine?  ❞   it’s clear that lily disagrees simply by the tone in her voice , the way expression sours more than it might’ve been.    ❝  i know we don’t have many mirrors right now bell , but have you seen your face?  it doesn’t look fine to me. ❞  eyes hold his gaze the entire time ,  specs of blood against his skin && the marbling of arising bruises is a little disconcerting to her . . it strikes a cord of worry inside her chest.  a tingling up her spine ,  a feeling she can’t shake when she even assumes one of their own is in trouble━a   feeling magnified when it came to bellamy.      ;        ❝  i could kill him  for hurting you like that.  ❞   she’d said ,  hands having given up momentarily as bellamy insisted on examining her.  the cut on her forehead , extended into her brow,  && the minimal bruises along cheeks was nothing compared to bellamy, though she’d never expect anything less from him.   always the  𝙿𝚁𝙾𝚃𝙴𝙲𝚃𝙾𝚁,  looking out for people he loved.  a sigh passes her lips , a slight wince when wet cloth brushed against open skin.    ❝   i told you , i’m fine.   now , let me take care of you please?  i can’t stand seeing-  ❞  head shakes ,  words cut off as she stands with some difficulty.   hand clutches his shoulder trying to remain steady :   the brace causes an ache to spread throughout her feeling tissue , but lily presses on.     ❝  hand me the cloth , bellamy.  ❞    palm extends.

      a shaky breath is taken in as she takes refugee in an empty room inside of arkadia ,  hand gripping onto the table as she almost looses balance . . the brace on her leg aches as it always does ,  the slight creak of metal a reminder.    eyes close tight , head shakes a little :    ❝  don’t do this , don’t━    you’re fine , you’ll get through this like everything else. ❞    fist hits against table , though   it doesn’t do much.  a spare tear or there gracing flushed cheeks as the sound of approaching , heavy footed steps draw her attention.   head turned ‘round quickly ,  eyes a little surprised to be rested on bellamy.   ❝  bell-  bellamy , what’re you doing here?  i thought- i figured you were out getting supplies now.  ❞   he can only look at her ,  worry clear in his eyes.    eyes glance away ,  ❝  i’m-  i’m fine , i’m alright.  i just-  ❞  not even lily believes it.    not another word needs to be spoken ,  he knows━bellamy has always had a way of   𝖐𝖓𝖔𝖜𝖎𝖓𝖌  when she was alright.  it was like his sixth sense.     his arms come around her ,  && lily wraps her own around his middle until hands can clutch at the skaikru jacket he wore.   face is pressed into his chest ,  the feeling of lips against her forehead.    ❝  i tried , i really did━i tried to be strong for you.  but ,  bell-bellamy i can’t . . i can’t-  ❞    head shakes slightly.

         𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐋𝐈𝐍𝐄 𝐖𝐀𝐍𝐓𝐒 𝐓𝐎 𝐁𝐄𝐋𝐈𝐄𝐕𝐄 𝐇𝐄’𝐒 𝐌𝐎𝐑𝐄 𝐓𝐇𝐀𝐍 𝐂𝐀𝐏𝐀𝐁𝐋𝐄 , && 𝐒𝐇𝐄 𝐃𝐎𝐄𝐒 , 𝐁𝐔𝐓 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐃𝐄𝐒𝐈𝐑𝐄 𝐓𝐎 𝐏𝐑𝐎𝐓𝐄𝐂𝐓 𝐇𝐈𝐌 𝐈𝐒 𝐒𝐓𝐑𝐎𝐍𝐆𝐄𝐑.   hand reaches out to take hold of his arm as if to stop jordan from moving forward ,  moment of hesitation happens where eyes can’t bring themselves to meet his.   a breath is pushed out of lips ,  consideration running wild in her brain before she can speak his name.     how can she say this without hurting his feelings?  without . .making him think she believes he can’t do it ,  which isn’t what’s on her mind at all !   it’s now that eyes rise to meet jordan’s ,   ❝  jordan━  ❞   another hitch of her words ,   ❝  i think you should let me go with you.   && no , it’s not that i think you’re not able to do it on your own.    these people want to hurt us  && i-i  know more about fighting , i think you might be a little outta your depth , honey.   it might be safer for me to come with you.  ❞   brows furrow in concern ,  eyes portray that much.      ;          ❝  i would never   𝙵𝙾𝚁𝙶𝙸𝚅𝙴   myself if you went && got hurt because i staid behind like you asked me too. ❞   she’s never been more afraid of anything . . the thought of him getting hurt , or worse , made her stomach turn!    ❝  we go together ,  no one stays behind.   just let me go first , alright?  ❞

         𝐈𝐓’𝐒 𝐌𝐎𝐌𝐄𝐍𝐓’𝐒 𝐋𝐈𝐊𝐄 𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐒𝐄 𝐓𝐇𝐀𝐓 𝐊𝐀𝐘 𝐂𝐇𝐄𝐑𝐈𝐒𝐇𝐄𝐒 𝐌𝐎𝐑𝐄 𝐓𝐇𝐀𝐍 𝐀𝐍𝐘 𝐎𝐅 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐎𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐑𝐒 ,  𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐂𝐋𝐎𝐒𝐄 𝐌𝐎𝐌𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐒 . . 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐎𝐍𝐄𝐒 𝐖𝐇𝐄𝐑𝐄 𝐈𝐓’𝐒 𝐉𝐔𝐒𝐓 𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐌  like it used to be before things were thrust into her husband’s lap after the death of his father !    it’s never just her && him anymore . .someone is never far behind.  someone always has to be present unless ordered otherwise && kay can’t help but just , as simple as it is ,  𝙼𝙸𝚂𝚂 𝙷𝙴𝚁 𝙷𝚄𝚂𝙱𝙰𝙽𝙳.   a soft breath is taken in ,  eyes coming to open where her mind seemed to doze off for a moment━head remains rested on his chest, body drawn in close as it always was when the pair actually got to sleep in the same bed at the same time.   arm is lazily drawn over michael’s chest ,  hand rested near rib cage where eyes easily focus on the wedding ring she’d never taken off . . not once despite everything.    feelings get away from her in this moment of quiet , in this moment of cherishing.  she can speak her mind with him , she always has.      ;          ❝  i miss you. ❞   she’d whispered knowing well enough he was listening ,    ❝  i knew what i was getting myself in when i married you , i know that , but i just- i wish we had more time together.  i feel like i never see you && michael . . you’re always in danger━ ❞   words are spoken almost lazily ,  but the emotion behind them are real !     ❝  i just want to make . . sure . . you’re s-safe . . because i lov-i love you. ❞    little by little kay’s falling asleep , body relaxing against him && before mind falls completely the small kiss to the top of her head eases mind && heart.
