“People always complain about Anna S.’s jumps, but I honestly find them breathtaking in real time, and so does the casual viewer. You can’t see the prerotation/unclear edge without slow-mo., and judges only watch in real time for takeoffs, so is it really so surprising that she’s not always called for stuff. She has a performance quality that always makes me excited to watch her. That’s what I care about in a skater. As long as they’re not flutzing in real time, I’m fine with less than perfect jumps.”
