The Irish game of Aingingein - each player would take the ball (a goat’s gallbladder) and fly through a series of burning barrels, each set high upon stilts, on a broomstick. The ball would then be thrown into the final barrel. The winner was the player who completed the task in the shortest time without catching on fire.

The Scottish game of Creaothceann - players were equipped with a broomstick and wore a cauldron strapped to their head. At the start of the game a hundred rocks and boulders that had been charmed to float a hundred feet above the ground began falling to the ground. The players then zoomed around the field, trying to catch as many rocks in their cauldrons as possible.

[America seems a touch smaller on the quidditch scene from what I can tell? Only two American teams were mentioned compared to three from Canada - given the populations, I guess it’s not as popular in America.Â
Stooging, where two chasers take out the keeper and leave the third free to score, was banned at the turn of the century. Blatching, flying with intent to collide, was also outlawed by the time of the original Harry Potter books.
Aingingein is an Irish game which is basically barrel riding on broomsticks where the barrels are on fire. I thought it’d be popular in America given the Irish links and the no-maj equivalent of barrel riding which is (as far as I know?) a mainly American thing.]

what's ticking me off is work and expectations and parental control and college applications and not knowing what is gonna happen a year from now and thinkin bout futures and friends and where the hell are we all going
2. if you could time travel to one day in the past, which day would it be and why?
i would go back to me at age two when my grandparents were still in the states and see how they acted around me and how i acted around them when i was tiny and chinese still was really easy to speak
3. do you write letters? what’s the most memorable piece of mail you’ve sent/received?
i've written letters back and forth since elementary school to some friends in japan and the stationery was always really cute and they told me little things in their lives and sent me cute things like konpeito candy and fluffy leggings so that was cool
4. what type of food can you never get enough of?
the edible kind. im not kidding around. but mostly ice cream like i could break into an ice cream factory and sit in the mixer vat and be perfectly content in there
5. where do you want to be right now?
in my bed (i'm in my bed right now)
6. do you like traveling to lots of places over a short period of time or to one place over a long period of time?
i prefer being in one place for a longer period of time. getting to know the place. getting to know some people. fast-paced stuff is not for me

i'm assuming this means favorite location. i think city, because as peaceful as countrysides are, they can get stagnant. i spent a month in rural Ohio one summer and i would find myself staring out the window at nothing but grass, for twenty minutes
8. is there a song or an album that changed the whole way you think?
well every time i transitioned musical genres there was a mind-shift. or maybe the mind-shift was a result of me transitioning musical genres. all im gonna say is it went from classic rock -> metal -> angsty 90's shit -> electronic -> ???????????
9. in your closet, is there a particular item of clothing that you could never part with?
i dont want to part with any of my clothing because buying that stuff took effort yo
but i have a cardigan that my greatgrandmum apparently got hand-crocheted by a tailor. handcrocheting, and here i am stabbing myself trying to open a safety pin
