Could the Darkbeast be connected to Beast Patients?
I know I previously made a theory against Darkbeasts being the final expression of beasthood, and I still stand by that, but could Darkbeasts be an evolved form of the male beast patients? Beast Patients are the only beasts with a similar skull shape to the Darkbeast, a humanoid skull, and their hands line up too. Scourge beasts have fingers with joints on the underside/no joints at all, while Beast patients and Darkbeasts have joints like a human hand. Beast patients and Darkbeasts are also found together in the same areas. Darkbeasts only exist where Beast patients do. If the female patients turn into/are heavily related to Blood-Starved Beasts, why can't the male patients turn into/are heavily related to Darkbeasts? It would also explain how Yahar'gul got Paarl in the first place. It's much easier to lure a Darkbeast from a neighboring town than it is to capture one and bring it up from a labyrinth that's incredibly deep underground. The male patients are never associated with electricity though, so that's a hole in this theory. However, the silver beasts, which are associated with the patients due to their location in ailing loran, do have electrical powers and also have a similar skull and hand shape, although they do have claws coming out of the back of their palms.
Loran is a tragic land that was devoured by the sands. The tragedy that struck this ailing land of Loran is said to have its roots in the scourge of the beast. Some have made the dreaded extrapolation that Yharnam may be next.Ā
There are trace remains of medical procedures in parts of ailing Loran. Whether these were attempts to control the scourge of the beast, or the cause of the outbreak, is unknown.

Where do you think that the scourge of the beasts came from in Bloodborne? I was always under the impression that it was a consequence of Laurence's use of the Old Blood (which I thought was the blood of Ebrietas).
Laurenceās actions sure brought the Scourge to Yharnam but other lands fell to it in the past. Loran is one of those:

We also know that the ābeastā that the Old Blood brings to the surface is something already present in every human:

and
As flesh is flayed and blood is sprayed, the beast within awakens, and in time, the wielder of this weapon surges with both strength and feverish reverie.[Beast Claw]
Long story short, the Scourge is very old and not limited to Yharnam and its surroundings. (The League, whose members are mostly foreigners, came to the city because they were pursuing a beast: āOnce upon a time a troupe of foreign constables chased a beast all the way to Yahrnam.ā) and it is surely caused by the use of the Old Blood but at the same time the Blood only awakens something that is already there.
