this used to be my favorite holiday
each year, it grows quieter as my hands still reach for the sweetest touch as my lips still quiver for the sweetest taste but there is a fear of the fearless trembling inside my already shaken limbs my already shaken heart, tainted by the shreiks of youth still burried deep within my heardened heart
and then there is a knock at the door sending my insides into spirals at the thought of turning the knob at the thought of remembering i too was once seeking treats when the world had me excited and naive i too was seeking tricks when magicians made me wonder when mimes made me cry
this year, i want silence this year, i want nothing i want nothing more than than the licks of lolly pops to stifle the laughs outside on this city block i hope by next Halloween, i will be living in the country where the outside will match my serene heart
