“Apologies,” he said, setting down the fragrant dish in front of her and pouring her a glass of wine. “I meant to have this ready sooner but I had to get creative with the ingredients. I had somehow run out of shallots.” Grabbing his own plate, he sat down across from her and poured himself some wine as well. “So embarrassing. Could you ever possibly forgive me?”

“We should. Although the only people who come through the gift shop are already from SHIELD -- once we sell as many as agents that work here, we’ll have to come up with a new slogan.” Maria aimed a conspiratorial smile at Bobbi. “What if I told you we already had one and you could use it whenever you wanted?”

Natasha is not at all religious, nor does she want to be. I kind of expounded on this a little <here> but there’s almost a sort of wistfulness that comes with seeing people being happily religious. However, aside from what she’d seen in Russia, her first major interaction with someone who was deeply religious was probably Matt. His Catholic guilt made it difficult for her to appreciate religion as something that could be helpful for people, but she also appreciated the moral code that came with it to some extent. It’s a mixed bag, because on one hand she thinks it’s kind of glorified brainwashing and on the other she thinks that as a means to an end, if it’s used well, it’s fine. There are just plenty of religious organizations that take advantage of their followers instead.

i do! i still have a lot of my old stuffed animals from when i was a kid partly because i’m extremely sentimental and struggle with like. even putting them away in a box but also i just like them.
