â ď¸: How do they keep the person they lost in good memory (eventually)?
Kieran: Have you seen his little storage unit out in the greenhouse (and down in his office. And bedroom closet. And part of Aly's office)? All spaces that are his are positively stacked with shoeboxes and old 50 cal ammo cans full of photos, newspaper clippings and antique mementos. And that's not counting the work he's done in the garden, setting up little memorial plaques along the trail leading out to the lake.
Josie: After her mother (Aine) died saving her and her childrens' lives, Josie's one method of coping and eventually remembering was to keep her mother's house and gardens up the way she remembered them being when she was growing up. Split-rail fences, thatched roof, crawling with ivy vines, daffodils in the spring, and hollyhocks in the summer. Every now and then she'll look out the front window and see CeCe and Michael playing under the oak tree, and wonder if her mother enjoyed the same view.
Henry: There is no good memory here. Every minute of knowing her was a bittersweet agony. Knowing that she wasn't going to make it through the next winter, knowing that if they got caught, they'd both be left for dead- he was a coward and walked away when he shouldn't have. But while he had her? 'What if we ran away?'
'What if we could make a home?'
'What if we're all we need?'
But then, some memories are best left to the dust. Or in a poorly built cairn deep in the Appalachian mountains. The top stone bears only two letters.
M. W.
Robin: Sunlight reminds Robin of what he had before. Before the humans rose to power and scarred the land and filled it with metal and wheels and roaring steam engines.
On the worst days, you will find him alone in one of the last sacred spots that the humans haven't touched, reveling in the sunlight, birds, the wind through the leaves. When the wind is just right, it's almost as if she's there with him, raking clever fingers through his hair, and the sunlight is their son kissing his cheek. But that was ages ago. He can honor their memory best by being happy now. He has a feeling she would have been happy with his new love too.

Given the twins are still fairly new to the whole âhaving a fatherâ game, they approach the holiday with even more of their usual zeal.
From Parker- She found him a book on the different methods and idealology behind tea-growing that had been out of print for a few years and she spent months knitting a sweater from the softest wool she could find and if it happened to be hideous then that was just her way of saying she loved him
Carter tried baking him a cake... tried
He also procured a few choice pieces of jewelry that he felt would look best on Kieran, hereâs hoping he didnât ask where he got it

This was brought about by an RP thread with @agent-elfin. You can find it here. Iâve been trying to figure out how to do this with Anna/Rebekah and all of the stuff I established in her canon, but then I realized, I am the creator. I can do whatever I want. So! Enjoy this piece that I totally didnât cry thinking about or writing!
Connor saw it too late. He saw Rebekah, his only child, the light of his life, close to the forestâs edge. He started calling out to her, but it was too late. Connor saw the set of hands grab her and take off, deep into the forest. âRebekah!â His feet barely touched the earth as he ran as fast as he could. He couldnât let this happen. Not again. Not with her.
Julie, his wife, took off after him. She knew what this was. âRebekah! Connor!!â He had told her about his family. They thought that they were safe. They thought that it would stop with them. When she caught up to him, she wrapped her arms around him. If he set foot into the forest... She knew that she would never see her daughter or husband again.
âJulie, Julie let me go! They have her! They have her!â Connor struggled against her hold. âWe have to get her, Julie! I canât,â the tears were already pouring down his face, âI canât lose her too...â He collapsed in her arms. His cheeks were stained with tears as he sobbed. For the first time in her life, Julie wished that she couldnât feel his pain.
It was an average day at Roanoke. Rebekah had done her chores, helped with the training of some of the newer agents, did research for an upcoming mission, nothing out of the blue. The only thing different about today was that Kieran was back in the field. Well, sort of. He was a consultant. Aly had given birth to Declan barely a year ago. He was the cutest little thing. Parker and Carter loved him to death. She did too! Rebekah loved Declan. She just... She didnât spend as much time at Kieran and Alyâs home with their child as Carter and Parker did. Kieran could tell her over and over again how much he loves her, how she is his connection to his first family, but that will never stop her from the sour feeling that she was just a charity case. He had three children. Three, living, biological children, that he could dote on. Why would he fawn over her? She was just a grandchild five generations down.
After a rather uneventful day, she went up to her room. Drake was planning on taking her out once Kieran was finished with the gate and she wanted to look nice. On days like this, when she started to feel bitter, she would always wear the necklace that she found at her childhood home. It had belonged to her mother. Simple, delicate, it was just a golden star of David on a silver chain. And she couldnât find it. That necklace was the only thing she could find of her mother. How could she not find it?
The next hour was spent tearing her room apart. Sheets were stripped off the bed, desk drawers were pulled out and emptied, clothes were strewn about the room. She still couldnât find it. Rebekah raced out of her room and down all the flights of stairs that would take her to the basement. âKieran!â He must have just came back through the gate. âOh thank god, youâre back!â Her curls were in a dark, frizzy halo around her head and her eyes were shining with tears. âI... I canât find my Magen David necklace.â
Kieran smiled. It threw her off. Why would he smile? He knew how important the necklace is to her. âIt worked...â He offered her his hands. âBekah, will you trust me? This is going to sound insane. I just canât believe that it worked...â The smile wouldnât leave his face.
âWhat? Kieran, what are you talking about?â She could feel the tears threatening to spill from her eyes.
âCome on, Sweets, we need to go to Ireland. Now.â
One ten hour plane ride later, on a stolen borrowed Statesmen jet, the two found themselves in the Fae Court headquarters. Rebekah had only been once or twice. She was looking around, taking a few photos, videos. Maybe Drake would like to see all of this one day? She looked over at Kieran. âI still donât know why we would have to come all the way to Ireland to find my Magen David. And you kind of left without telling Aly or Carter and Parker. Donât you think that theyâll be worried?â
He knew very well how she felt about the additions to their family. Kieran didnât have to be a mind reader to know. Hopefully the tampering he had done would relieve some of the tension. âJust... Trust me. Weâll find it here. I promise.â He had made a phone call when they were on the jet. Robin should be bringing them into this particular foyer any moment now...
âKieran! Old friend!â There he was. âItâs good to-â
She turned around when she heard Robin. âOh thank god. Robin can you... Ex..... plain......â Her phone slipped out of her hand, clattering to the floor. Robin was in front of her, yes, but so were two others.
A man and a women, they looked to be no older than fifty. The woman had dark curls like Rebekah, the roots streaked with silver. Her skin matched Rebekahâs as well, like she had just walked off the beach in the Mediterranean. A hand came up to cover her mouth as tears started to gather in her bright green eyes. While the woman had her hair and skin, looking at the man was almost like looking in a mirror. His slightly unruly dark hair ended just before his grey eyes. The sharp corners of his cheeks and jawline were unmistakably copied onto her face. Tears were already streaming down his cheeks as he spoke, voice already cracking. âBeks...?
The nickname hit her like a freight train. It was like a sledgehammer had been taken to a wall in her mind. She had started to remember more of her past with the help of King Oberon, but this was different. A wave of memories crashed over her like a waterfall. Birthdays, holidays, school... The park. Her seventh birthday. She looked at the man in front of her, tears filling her own eyes. âPapa?â
He couldnât hold himself back anymore. Connor rushed forward and took his little girl in his arms. Well, she wasnât little anymore. Julie let him and Rebekah have their moment. She went straight to Kieran, looking him up and down. âYou look exactly the same. Twenty-one years and have you even changed clothes?â
âWell, for me itâs only been about ten hours since I spoke to you. Itâs been twenty-one years for her though.â He gestured over to Rebekah, a few tears coming to his eyes. She was smiling. He could see the tears staining her cheeks, but she was smiling. Rebekah had her family again. âSheâs really missed you. And I am so sorry that I couldnât stop what happened. If I did...â
âThen we never would have seen her again. Time travel is a finicky thing. Some of the Borley members have taught me that.â Julie and Connor havenât just been sitting around for twenty-one years doing nothing. They have been doing their best to track McCreary down. âI just... Thank you. What you did altered time so it wasnât right, but at the same time, it was. Thank you so much Kieran.â She took him in her arms and gave him a good squeeze. âAfter all these years, I have something to give to her.â Julie pulled away from him and reached her hand under the collar of her shirt. She pulled out a silver chain with a golden Star of David.
Kieran couldnât keep the smile off of his face. Rebekah would get her necklace. More importantly? Rebekah would have her family back.
â Pull my hair again and this is gonna get real awkward real fast. â (agent-elfin, some relationship building)

Ondine quickly pulled her hand away from his hair. Her cheeks were almost the color of her hair. She hadn't meant to pull hair, really, it was just so soft.
