How I feel about this character: I couldn't put this into words if i tried but i will. My heart rate is going up thinking about her rn. I don't think i ever earnestly related to a character before this. I have really never felt seen by the way a character was written pre-gemma scout. even more way too personal stuff but just every element of what she goes through feels relevant to me in a way thats almost scary and uncomfortable. she is genuinely my favorite character in any work of fiction aside from like, Othello from Othello. He's even got a huge run for his fucking money. Like she is everything to me, truly my moon and stars. My gemma.

All the people I ship romantically with this character: Everyone take a wild fucking guess. If you dont happen to know i have just recently completed a gemmahelena fic that is nearly 80k words long. so... that. I like MarkGemma, I have a lot of feelings about it, and I wish there were more fics for them. Gemdev i have found I really love as a one sided crush on devon's part but it is also great as a reciprocated thing. I think gemdev is really super hard to get right. and if i say gemmaselfcest*gunshot*

My non-romantic OTP for this character: Gemma and Ricken!!! Their dynamic in the you you are makes my chest ache. I really want to see him like looking after her now that she is on the surface. making her soup and crackers and holding her when she cries and stuff like that. They're just such an interesting pair and I love that they get along. I like to imagine that before she was kidnapped she kind of was a buffer between him and mark. they were both the spouses married into the family so i think they had something in common there, and now Ricken is kind of alone? Even with his wife. does that make sense? I just love the intricate ways gemma's death affected everyone in her life, beyond just generically missing her. there are tangible effects to her absence that were starting to ruin all three (mark, devon, and ricken) of their lives.

My unpopular opinion about this character: ok can i get really real for a second? if you think gemma is boring or too perfect or whatever... it may be time to look inward. not all interesting characters have to be self-loathing assholes. they certainly can be! but just because a character does not deal with certain specific struggles does not mean that they are uncomplicated. just because a character is generally kind to others does not mean they are uncomplicated. that is not to say i want gemma to stay in her current characterization forever, i definitely want to see her go apeshit next season but like within her actual established personality and stuff. idk its a fine balance of what the fuck else could she do other than flip out vs "my wife is extraordinary" like i do believe (LIKE HELLY BEING SO DEAD SET ON RESCUING HER) that gemma should have an "extraordinary" reaction to everything that's gone down.

1: Are they talkative?

Pierce: yes, she’s very inquisitive and especially when she’s around Mulder a lot of questions naturally arise from the shit he spews. She stays this way even after…the incident.

Mary: no she’s quite shy and quiet. Even around people she loves/is comfortable with she’s more of a listener/judger than a sharer.

7: Neat or messy hand writing?

Pierce: messayyyy cursive.

Mary: very neat old timey long hand cursive. Like her diary looks like the Declaration of Independence

11: What's their favorite food/least favorite food?

Pierce: Pierce discovers soul food through her FBI partner and really falls in love with it. She specifically loves greens. She hates red bean flavored desserts because it was all her mom stocked and it kind of embarrassed her when her white friends wanted a treat so she decided she hated it.

Mary: ok insanely this was a question my DM made me answer for her, so I already know her favorite is sticky toffee pudding and I think her least favorite would be, like, eel.

21: Do they move around a lot while sleeping?

Pierce: ummmm idk. No not a lot. A normal amount.
