Okay hi, so I'm going to take the idea with that of mind alteration spells and run a little wild with it but ehat if one of those spells made the villain a little... *leans closer and whispers* yandere? *Wiggles my eyebrows* you know the classic types, super obsessed, madly in love, would definitely kill the person who even dares look at their lover for even a second, how would the RO's react? I know you said that they could be fixed but it's still fun to image don't you think?
You are free to imagine whatever you want, but as I mentioned, mental altering spells are impossible not to notice and fairly easy to break if you have the resources.
All the ROs have the resources.
None of them would allow for a mental alteration spell to remain on the Villain, because even though the ROs have a different sense of morally than ours due to the fact they leave in a world facsimile to medieval times with some changes, they still all have fairly solid moral compasses they adhere to. And leaving someone they know and care about trapped within their own minds like that?
That goes against all their morals.
Yes, it will be implied that some of the ROs have a less strict sense of morality than others, but mental manipulation is inherently violating for the person trapped by it and none of them would allow for that to happen to the villain.
None of them would even use it on their worst enemies if given the chance.
Additionally, while I do realize that once in a while reading about yandere characters is entertaining, I don't particularly like the idea of writing them? The goal of Off Script is to make the romances healthy, fun and tropey and to subvert some popular romance tropes, so I don't particularly want to answer the question?
Sorry if that is not the answer that you wanted, but right now I just don't want to write this level of unhealthy dynamics. I have might go back on my word at some point out of curiosity, but I don't think that is happening soon.
