hey i just wanted to ask if you've seen one day at a time season 3? penelope, the mother, goes through a very tensive experience irt romance (what with her mother pushing it in the name of tradition) and she comes to a revelation that she doesnt need a romantic partner and that she's whole by herself and happy with her friends and family. if u havent seen the show, its on netflix, but i wanted to tell u cause ur a latine aro and maybe this could reach you like it did me (+)
(+) i was coming at it from a nonlatine black perspective, bc we do share that connection of traditional culture forcing romance on us, but youre actually of the same heritage, so i wanted to message you about it
I’ve literally never heard of this show before today and have genuinely not the slightest concept of what it’s about, but sounds cool. It’s really good to hear about women in TV learning to value themselves without romance, and even more so for latinas. I hope it’ll help people learn that lesson for themselves
