So ever since we found out that DA4 will have a new hero I've been thinking about theories for how the Inquisitor could appear in game as an NPC:
The Inquisitor appears in an advisor-type position. Customizable, like Hawke, but otherwise has a similar role to Leliana in DAI. If their LI is part of the game (I.E. Dorian) you get a cute little cutscene of them being happy together. If not, to get a cutscene of them telling you about where their LI is now.
The Inquisitor drinks from the Well of Sorrows and must appear to help face the Evanuris (if they don't, Morrigan will appear instead).
The Inquisitor romanced Solas, in which case they will appear and offer a special solution that is not available when dealing with a non-romanced Solas.
