Jake is sick and tired of Finn using his body as armour, so he convinces Finn to trade places to show him how much it really stinks to be in his place.

This episode's title is similar to one of the scrapped episodes, "Jakesuit," which also involved Finn wearing Jake as a suit.

The Jakesuit has no tail unlike in "The Silent King."

It's revealed that T.V. still lives with his mom, and that he can speak English as of this episode.

When Jake is singing the Baby Finn Song, he sings the first line incorrectly, singing "I'm a tough tootin' baby" rather than "I'm a buff buff baby." The line Jake sings doesn't come into the song until later.

The name of the Icelandic musician Björk is used as an exclamation in this episode three times; once by Finn, once by Flame Princess and once by Jake.

Finn last wore Jake as a suit in the episode "The Silent King."

This is the first time Jake shows he knows the Baby Finn Song; previously it was only seen within Finn's mind as in "Memory of a Memory" and "Goliad." However, it is unknown how he knew this.

The Clown Nurses from "Another Way" appears at the end of the episode to help Finn and Jake recover from their burns. Finn's horror and Jake's delight with the nurses also appear.

As revealed in "Puhoy," rainicorn children age quickly, all of Jake and Lady's children have moved out into their own places except T.V.

The special occasion phone is the third phone that Finn used. The others were in "Go With Me" and "Reign of Gunthers".

The Squirrel from "Up a Tree" makes a cameo appearance.

Finn also displays his well-hidden masochistic behavior once again in this episode, just like in "Five Short Graybles" where he admits to liking the pain.

This was Lady Rainicorn's first appearance since "Jake the Dad."

At the start when Finn got BMO to try and beat-up the Jakesuit, outside the window you could see it was grey and stormy, in the next scene, when Finn jumped out of the window, it was sunny and clear.

After Finn breaks his feet loose of Jake's arm, while being lowered into the volcano, he is shown with them bound again.

Storyline analysis

Due to the fact that Flame Princess gets angry with Finn for embarrassing her without doing any more than yell, she has probably gained control over her anger. She had a much larger reaction in "Incendium" when she caught people whispering.

Flame Princess also made a point of inviting "less evil" members of her family, backing up her statement in "Vault of Bones" that she prefers good to evil.

When Lumpy Space Princess reports something being taken from her without revealing what, Finn and Jake investigate the Candy Kingdom for the object and culprit.

Trivia

When the cats are in the suits with a suitcase, this is similar to the character, Business Cat, from Our New Electrical Morals.

In the Candy Drugstore behind Ann there is katakana (Japanese) on the glass that reads "ファーマシー",  meaning "pharmacy."

When Ann is getting the empty jar down, on the far right of the screen, there is a bottle with Viking ruins on the label; they possibly spell out "Eelaei."  Viking ruins are also on the yellow carton next where the jar was sitting; they possibly spell out "Apreil."

Jake turns into a pipe that Finn inserts into his mouth. This is a reference to Sherlock Holmes.

This episode is a tribute to crime dramas such as Law and Order and The Wire.

Several connections to "Mystery Train" appear in this episode, including the return of the Candy Kingdom's train system (and many of the former passengers) and Jake transforming into a person (such as he did as "The Conductor").

The Ice King does everything possible to ruin a princess potluck he believes he didn't get invited to, and uses a variety of tactics in attempt to do so.

Trivia

This episode marks the first time Finn calls Ice King by his initials as 'IK'.

Finn first said to Skeleton Princess: "Hey you..." the most likely cause of this is because he doesn't remember or recognize Skeleton princess.

Even though the Ice King caught some rabbits, they were never used due to them stinking up the sack they were carried in.

Ice king mispronounces lasagna in this episode.

The royal guests list for the Princess Potluck are Princess Bubblegum, Princess Princess Princess, Embryo Princes, Skeleton Princess, Hot Dog Princess, Muscle Princess, Bounce House Princess, Turtle Princess, Lumpy Space Princess and Orange Princess.

It is not known why Wildberry Princess is not in the list even though she appeared in the potluck.

While the Ice King tried and made the others jealous by having his own party, his dancing resembles the "Stanky Leg" and the famous "Twerkin".

Ice King was able to sense that someone was messing with his snow, similar to how Marvel's Spider-Man uses spider senses.

Aspects of this episode hint that this episode occurs at the exact same time as "BMO Noire":

Finn is missing a sock and Jake has a lipstick spiral on his face and has long eyelashes, which matches up with the events of the former episode as they leave BMO alone in the house.

By the end of the episode, Jake has an arrow on his head, and Finn is carrying The Sea Lard, which is how the duo appear when they return to the house just as BMO finds Finn's other sock.

Finn's scream from "Burning Low" returns once again. 

The Squirrel from "The Duke", appears once again, shooting Jake with an arrow continuously throughout the episode.

The Ice King has a similar hat to the one Joshua wears.

Errors

Wildberry Princess was also invited to the potluck, but only appeared in the crowd when they were cheering for Gunter.

She then disappears in the next scene when the Ice King begins to attack the potluck.

Depressed by his feelings with Flame Princess, Finn enters a pillow fort built by Jake where he enters a new world and makes a new life for himself.

Finn entering into the Pillow World through a door within his own house (the entrance to the pillow fort), living another life and growing old until returning to his former self after finally leaving is similar to the Pevensie children in C.S. Lewis' The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.

The premise of the story, an adventurer/explorerlike person dreaming or living out another, more familial life is similar to the Star Trek: The Next Generation episode "The Inner Light." Additionally Jonathan Frakes, who starred as Commander William T. Riker in that series, provides the voice of older Finn. A stark difference however between the two episodes is that while Captain Picard in the episode retains his memories of the alternate life - even learning to play the flute thanks to it; Puhoy is ambiguous as to whether Finn remembers or not.

The Pillowcronomicon is likely a reference to the Necronomicom, the fictional grimoire that appeared in the stories written by horror writer H. P. Lovecraft and various films such as The Evil Dead.

The little door that serves as the entrance of Pillow World is very similar to the little door of Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland.

This is the second time a knife storm occurs. The first time was "Rainy Day Daydream."

Finn appears to have a pillow-like robotic arm replacing his right arm. He previously envisioned himself with a robotic arm in "Mortal Folly," "Who Would Win," and "King Worm." Farmworld Finn's right arm is also robotic. Likewise, in "Wizard" his right arm is transformed into a sword.

BMO and Jake both mentioned his kids for the first time since "Jake the Dad."

Although the little Lady Rainicorn does not appear to be pregnant, Finn mentions that she is.

The little people and their interactions is similar to the video game The Sims.

Magic Man's incantation "Do what thoust will be the whole piece of law," is a reference to the phrase "Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law." This was a key tenet of the religion Thelema developed by early 20th century occultist Aleister Crowley.

The song Jake plays in the storyboard version is "Lonesome Fiddle Blues" (which is more widely known as the tune used in "The Devil Went Down to Georgia" by the Charlie Daniels Band). However, it was replaced with different music in the finished version of the episode.

When the little Princess Bubblegum is carried out of the bag, she is not wearing shoes, but when she is standing up she is seen wearing shoes.

Near the end of the first scene where Finn and Jake are walking back to the house and they discover the sack full of little people, Finn's sword disappears.

After putting little Finn, Jake, Princess Bubblegum, Lumpy Space Princess, and BMO, the outline of Finn's bear hat disappears and comes back on the next scene.

Princess Bubblegum's dress got burned a bit, But she didn't burn her skin while fighting with Flame Princess.

Little Princess Bubblegum has ears even though the real Princess Bubblegum has no ears as seen in some episodes.

Just before Finn starts shaking little Finn, little Finn's lower portion of his bookbag is yellow, as opposed to being lime green like it normally is.
