YEAH I'M ABOUT TO SET PONIFY TO SWAP ALL OF THEM TO MY PREFERENCE ON AO3... i think seeing the letters YUHJ makes it easier to not mix them when they're all in a fic but i'm petty and i find the yuus neater + more aesthetically pleasing in all cases
I really should do that! I do sometimes mix up Yuuto and Yuugo when Iâm reading too fast, because theyâre only one letter apart, but thatâs not a problem with Yuuya and Yuuri so I can live with that xD And if itâs fanfic and the writerâs doing a half-decent job, it should be incredibly easy to keep them apart by characterization alone :p

it trips me up even being a native english speaker⌠i just end up pronouncing it like you would japanese, and i end up backing out too
Yeah :/ Iâve run search/replace once for a fic that came very highly recommended, but generally Iâm just too lazy. And on a non-linguistic note, itâs just way easier to refer to the âYuu boysâ when talking about them, without having to bother with different romanizations (though Iâll admit that Hyugo doesnât trip me up nearly as badly).
