[â™ ] - an addictionheadcanon
Idunnisn’t addicted to any substances. However, she is addictedto collecting things. Once she starts collecting something (which isliterally anything at this point) it is extremely difficult for herto stop. She likes to surround herself with lots of things, and whileshe would say that her collections are simply representations of thejourneys she has taken over the years— it is much darker. Objectswill never betray her, hurt her, or leave her. She likes that alot.
[♣] - amistake/regret headcanon
Her biggest mistake andheaviest regret is not saving Steinarr, her sister Amoda’s son.Steinarr was born sick and weak. One day Amoda came to her and threwherself at Idunn’s feet and begged for a small piece of one of hergolden apples so that her son might be cured. Idunn, young at thetime, saw her sister’s sorrow and torment and mistook it as a desireto be rid of the weak child. So, Idunn said no, and Steinarr passed ashort time later. To this day, her relationship with Amoda is poor atbest and openly hostile at worst. She regrets not giving her theapple, and not using her power to save her nephew.
[♥] - a (negative)love headcanon
Idunn will keep thingsfrom those she loves the most in order to spare them from beingdisappointed by her. She assumes that if those who love her see thedarker side of her, they will leave her. She does not outright lie tothem, but she will lie by omission. Â
[♦] - a superstition/ back luck headcanon
Whileshe doesn’t particularly consider herself superstitious, she does doa lot of little things subconsciously. For instance, she alwayscarries an acorn hidden upon her for good luck. Before she moved to Asgard she asked that Odin have a massive salt stone circle constructed around the entirety of the land he had given her. Why? Because everyone knows circles have the power to keep evil spirits and the dead away.Â
