All the processes used to make Adam's mask, the finished piece may look simple but as with most things a lot of time goes into creating. 1. Sculpting the mask from an oil based clay. 2. Making a Waste Mould from plaster and cleaning/fixing it up. 3. Gel coating the inside of the mould and then fibreglassing several layers. 4. Fillering and sanding the 'positive' fibreglass mould and adding some finer details using strips of ABS plastic. 5. Vac forming a sheet of 2mm ABS plastic over the fibreglass mould, cutting it out, priming it and painting on the details. 6. Weathering the mask a little, sealing it with Mat Lacquer and backing the eye slits with a thin black mesh fabric. It's a long process and can be expensive to do it this way, but by choosing this route I have a Fibreglass Vacform mould that I can use to make more with for commissions.
