I am immediately skeptical of any companies that youtubers all hock at the exact same time. There's Audible, which has given Amazon a monopoly on audiobooks. All those VPNs and health apps that sell your personal data to the government. Shitty video games and samey website generators and online classes that hide information behind paywalls when you can find the exact same tutorials elsewhere for free. The newest thing being shoved down my throat is Ground News, which purports to show you which media outlets are biased in which political direction, and lemme just say
Maybe it is a truly reliable resource that every single youtuber has thoroughly vetted and decided to vouch for simultaneously, or maybe it's in the pocket of some evil corporate entity and it says all of their headlines are gospel and everyone else is full of shit. Are they organic partnerships, or is Google incentivizing its freelance employees to sell their souls to the devil? It's hard for me to trust a company whose business model is "trust us, we do the research for you, why would we lie?" I dunno, I've just seen too many breaches and failures over the years. It's only paranoia if it's wrong.
