#actually 6

THIS WAS SO HARD FOR ME TO NARROW DOWN TO FIVE!!!! (so i gave you my top 6) and i strongly apologize for rambling on about why i picked each of these

6. “All in.” from Humbug (6x11)-I’ve shipped them ever since Deliverance (2x10) when he saved her from the room full of lasers and the explosion so after 6 years of that will they-won’t they, I’m so glad they finally became official. I also really believe that almost losing each other multiple times really set it into perspective that life is too short to not let yourself fall in love, and /or hold back telling someone how you feel about them.

5. “How’s that for communication?” from Descent (4x24)- We’ve seen throughout the seasons prior to this, that they clearly have some feelings for each other that go way beyond a work relationship. It was very difficult for these two characters to express the way they felt and I was so excited when he could finally show her the way he felt and it’s okay that they couldn’t say it in words, but they could say it through actions, and I think that really brings out who they are as people because both of them are such damaged human beings and I feel actions are SO MUCH more important that words when it comes to being in any kind of relationship.

4. “Our kickass Kensalina has a softer, lacy lady side, that no one knows about but me… And I love it.” -I just absolutely love how he knows her so well. I just think it is so adorable that he remembers all these little thing about her that make her who she is, and more recently, I love that they don’t need to hade any side of themselves from each other.

3. “I just kept thinking about your smile, and your laugh, everything. It’s the only thing that got me through, for whatever it’s worth.” from Ascension (5x01) - Can I just say, that this scene makes me cry every single time I watch it. I felt like this was his way of almost declaring his love for Kensi, without actually saying that he loves her. I think at the end of this episode he finally said something he actually meant, and I also think that is why Kensi tears up a bit when he says that to her.

2. “I’m really glad you’re alive… We’re going home.” from Spoils of War (5x19)-The way she almost falls into the hug hurts. I mean here are these two incredibly broken characters, who have almost lost each other, and deep down inside they know that they cannot live without each other. As Deeks says in Humbug, they really are safe together and splitting them up only validates that point even more. When you look at the end of season 4, after the kiss, they split up, and that’s when everything went down hill. Here towards the end of season 5, when Kensi sees Jack for the first time in years and is ordered to kill him, she desperately needed someone to talk to. That person could’ve been Deeks had they’ve not split them up. Because she didn’t trust anyone in Afghanistan, she had to go out on her own for a while, and in doing so she got kidnapped and tortured my the Taliban. When it was all over though, you have this incredibly strong woman who is practically fearless, is now afraid,this experience almost weakens her, and I think Deeks, in a way, gives her strength. This scene was also really important for him as well because like he said earlier in the episode, his partner is the person he cares most about. When Hetty said that they found pictures that looked as if Kensi was killed, you could just see his heart break. He was willing to torture the cleric for answers and he didnt even care if it worked, he just needed some one or something to let his anger out on. I dont think it was really anger about her being dead. Of corse he was upset that she was dead, but I really think it was a moment of self hatred where he was kind of thinking “she’s gone and I didn’t even get to tell her how I really felt about her.” I think that is something really amazing how these two have such an impact on one another.
