It was already evening, the sun beginning its journey into nightfall, and as impossible as it may sound, Haechan was starting to run out of conversation topics with you today. Eyeing around his room, the bracelet making set he used to use catches his attention. Offering the activity of making a bracelet for one another, he fights the blood rushing to his cheeks at the thought of you wearing something he made just for you, and vice versa.
You’re both lost in concentration, music playing in the background as the two of you are hard at work on your bracelets. The occasional break is taken when a good song comes on, causing a mini karaoke session. Haechan’s sister comes over at one point, wondering what all the ruckus was about, and you all have a nice chat until she gets called over by another sibling, instilling the calmer atmosphere once again.
“Alright, I think I’m done!” You smile as you inspect your finished work: a mix of yellow and clear beads recreating Haechan’s sunny disposition adorning the jewelry, accompanied by a dangling charm with a smiling sun and alphabet beads that read “Fullsun” in the middle, in reference to one of his favorite nicknames. Your joy is short-lived as you look over and see Haechan putting the finishing touches on his miniature masterpiece, a silent gasp hanging in the air upon your dropped jaw.
“What do you think? Is it- hey are you alright?” Haechan furrows his brow in confusion at the look on your face, innocently unaware that he was the reason behind it.
“It’s… wow.” Words escape you as your eyes take in the beauty that was your soon-to-be bracelet: shimmery gold-plated metallic beads accompanied by smaller black dots, with letters spelling out “My Sunflower” and a beautiful dangling charm to match. How funny that despite having very similar ideas, somehow his artistry still manages to shine through the simple bead set, making it look like something much fancier than common craft store supplies. “I really get to wear that?” You break from your musings and collect enough brainpower to express your gratitude, enveloping both Haechan and the bracelet in an excited bear hug.
Trying and failing to suppress the heat reaching up to his ears at your reaction, Haechan places feather-light kisses all over your face, mumbling about how precious you were and how lucky he is to have you. You place your bracelet upon his wrist, and he does the same for you, holding your hand for just a beat too long before sealing the deal with a princely kiss above your palm.
“You know, most boyfriends have to buy jewelry, but I just made you the best bracelet in the world,” Haechan jests, his nasal laugh filling your ears as he grins from ear to ear.
“You know, you just might be right about that,” you mutter softly, leaning your head on his shoulder as you both continue eyeing the beautiful accessories upon your interlocked hands.
