Trans Acadian Flag
Fuck it trans Acadian flag, because our ethnicity and language affects our perception of gender and many leaders in the Acadian community are transgender. Iâve also heard nonbinary Acadians be referred to simply as âChiacâ because the fluidity of the dialect is comparable to the fluidity of our gender. Let me know if youâd like a further explanation of how Acadian identity can impact gender identity, a friend of mine, Xavier Gould, has written a lot on it.
ya tu des acadiens icitte?

"If you are Insulting, mocking, making racist statements(racist behaviour) to our Mi'kmaw protectors - STOP
If you are Aligning ones self (Laughing along or staying silent) with someone who is insulting, mocking, or making racist statements to our Mi'kmaw protectors - STOP
If you are messing with the traps or aligning with others who are - STOP Some Acadians have been seen, insisting that our allies "Go get a licence like everyone else" in unceded Mi'kmaw territory. - STOP
If you are going to dismiss the other Acadian's wishes don't wave OUR Acadian Flag. Feel free to do it under the Maple Leaf flag we were all forced under."

Could I ask where the art in your header comes from/who itâs by? itâs beautiful :)
It's an interpretation of Evangeline, an Acadian character from a famous poem about the Acadian Deportation. She is very symbolic of our culture, but she was not written by an Acadian and certainly doesn't represent all Acadian woman. I personally don't think she's accurate to the strength and determination of our women. Because of this inaccuracy Acadians constantly remake art of her, poems and paintings where she is different from the original story.
This piece is from a pop art challenge to see who could make the best modern Evangeline, unfortunately I don't know the artist.
I'd suggest this article for more info on the story of Evangeline and why we have different thoughts on her: I Am Not Evangeline
