17. What’s your favourite thing about academia?

hm, probably just being able to finally learn for the sheer ability to learn! i can choose what i want to study because im interested in it, not because its mandated by the government

18. What’s your least favourite thing about academia?

the elitism, and aggression of fellow students who think your major is “useless” or who dont think youre an equal because youre not as ambitious as them. i have no ambitions whatsoever aside from like, having a stable job and not struggling every day to survive. i get looked down upon bc im not someone who has massive aspirations like being president, or a cancer researcher, or someone who “wants to make a difference in the world.” i just want to live a happy life doing what i love.

celebratory brunch at sabrina’s cafe! i just got all my paperwork in, and i’m officially a graduate research assistant at drexel’s metadata research center!

i’m also celebrating the fact that i’ve reached 500+ followers on here! thank you all so much ♡ i’ve had lots of fun with this itsy bitsy blog, it brings me joy that there’s so many of you along for the ride!

ontology creation project: just organizing some fruits 🍊🍓🍐🍉

for real though this was a really fun assignment and i went so overboard. i only needed 20 terms and 1 relationship and instead i had 34 terms and 2 relationships. i was going to add seed type too but did more research and discovered pits aren’t actually seeds they’re a protective layer around the seed. the more you know??

in other news my professor offered me a job because i’m having so much fun in her class! my mind is a little blown. i’m still thinking it over but it would be great experience.
