This is Abstracted Caine Side Story 1 !!

I can imagine this taking place between parts 6 and 7 of the abstracted caine comic, but I can also just see this as an alternative scenario to Pomni finding Caine when he's crawling towards the cellar (i.e. not canon, an au of an au if you will LOL).

Pacing could be better but I only had a little time to work on this today and I mainly wanted to draw Caine screaming in pain, so mission accomplished 🙂‍↕️

I think this little argument between them showcases more directly the animosity they have in a way that the cast wouldn't really get to see. I think Caine's disposition in the main comic is more nervous and wanting to perform for the cast that his anger and resentment towards what he's actually doing doesn't come through as much.

But when he's around Kinger, he drops the act because he knows Kinger wouldn't be able to tell anybody what he saw anyways (or so he thought, cough cough part 9). I also think this dynamic explains why Kinger gives up when trying to get information out of Caine that first night when he and Pomni found him in his office--he knows Caine isn't going to tell him things with Pomni there.

As I said you can take this as being canon in the AU or just an alternate scenario ^^ I'm not sure which I like more so I'll just leave it at that

I feel like abstracted Caine would try to Keep the blue ai safe before trying to fix an abstraction in front of the Players because of guilt and being protective of his sibling.

Update: Comic parts for Abstracted Caine AU will be shorter moving forward so I can release parts more frequently.

this ended up looking a bit similar to this drawing which was a bit by mistake, i just didn't know what to do for a bg so my brain said "do a blue screen"

I should be getting a break from work near the end of May so hopefully I can just lock in and get it all done b4 June 🥲 I really wanna get it all out before the last episode cuz I don’t wanna have to deal with like even crazier canon/comic contradictions than what I’ve got planned already

You are welcome to interpret the comic/AU however you’d like! Part of the fun I have in this fandom is seeing everyone’s different interpretations of all the characters and the events of the show.

But to answer your question, I think yes there’s definitely an implication that what Caine is doing in the AbstractedCaine AU is SH.

I will say, I don’t think that when Caine started to experiment on himself that he was doing it with the intention of SH. He wanted to solve a problem that was preventing the cast from enjoying his adventures. But as he kept doing these experiments, and the abstracted code he kept putting into his brain started messing with his mind, they sort of became an unhealthy coping mechanism.

I also think that the representation of abstraction in the show as “giving up” points toward this interpretation of Caine in the comic.
