break: What would cause your OC to break down completely? What do they look like when that happens? Has anyone ever seen them at their lowest?

Ryn did break, and it was ugly.

When he got back from Ultima Thule, he lost his sight and his hearing. In spite of that, he continued to be the strong pillar of optimism he had become known to be.

But he was angry, so angry. He had saved the star, the entire fucking universe, and now here he was, struggling to even dress himself. Why was he being punished? It wasn't fair.

Eventually, the struggles of learning to live with his disabilities came to a head, and he lashed out in a way no-one had ever really seen from him before. No-one was hurt, but there was a very sobering realisation.

Because he had no memory when he first arrived in Eorzea, Ryn used to take things at face value a lot. Throughout ARR he got better at trying to discern if someone was trustful or not by learning it from other people.

But all of that learning was abandoned after the Bloody Banquet and into HW, and he became distrustful of everyone. The only person he did trust was Haurchefant, and so the events after the Vault were particularly difficult for him (he was also becoming a DRK at the same time and we all know how those quests go).

He was back at square one during StB, albeit at a different perspective. But he did start trusting again through that time, and on into ShB, especially as there were many people putting their trust in him, he realised he should probably do the same.

16. What does your WoL do to relax? What sorts of distractions do they seek? Do they foster any bad habits as a result?

Ryn initially picked up clothcraft as a way to deal with grief, and it eventually became his primary hobby. Ironically, it keeps him out of developing any more bad habits.

He also got into gardening as a hobby post-EW. He mostly grows veggies for Bok Choi, but he also loves growing flowers.

29. Did your WoL suspect anything was amiss with Urianger or the Crystal Exarch? Did they feel betrayed? Upset? When the truth finally emerged? 

Post-HW, Ryn knew it was Urianger pulling the strings with the Warriors of Darkness, but after his initial anger about it he figured that there had to be a reason Urianger was doing what he was doing, so decided to trust him. He wasn't aware that Urianger was in on Exarch's plan, and when it was revealed, Ryn was just sad that Urianger wasn't honest with him.

During ShB, it annoyed him that he recognised Exarch's voice, but he couldn't place it for some reason. He got caught up with the Lightwardens before he could work it out, and it wasn't until the building of the talos in Kholusia that pieces began to fit into place.

35. How do they feel about the fact that they've killed a lot of people and/or things?

He tries not to think about it. He doesn't like to kill without good reason, and even when he's forced to he doesn't like it (though there are exceptions; Zenos, Gaius).

•I’m upbeat- Making sure to stay positive is hard, but I think I get through it pretty well.

•I’m caring- as long as everyone else is having a good time and feels happy, I feel the same!

•I’m affectionate! Cuddles are my fave.

• I will literally always rewatch the Barbie movies of the early 2000’s. Shit was my jam.
