Personality: The facade he puts up in public makes him look intimidating and fearless, a man who takes no nonsense. In reality, Red is a patient and understanding person who gets very enthusiastic about things he's interested in. He's also fairly mischievous, annoying his friends for fun sometimes. He tends to forget self care, and feels inferior to his public image, despising it at the same time. He's extremely protective of his loved ones, to the point where it's sometimes a problem, and holds himself to very high standards.

Backstory: Red is Hibiki's older cousin and five minutes younger than Kenneth. They'd visit each other a lot, so Red knows quite a bit about Johtonian culture.

He was often picked on as a child due to being silent most of the time, although that wouldn't stop him from exploring the outside areas, often getting lost.

Red always had a love for pokemon, practically dreaming of becoming a trainer before he turned eleven. He and his childhood friend Blue had a friendly rivalry, but Blue's tone of voice and choice of words were easily misinterpreted by others as bullying.

Red always disliked how Professor Oak favored him over his own grandson, especially since Red just filled out the pokedex because of his own love for pokemon.

He'd make the worst mistake of his life during his pokemon journey, getting fed up with no one doing anything about Team Rocket and fighting them himself. Rocket would immediately see him as a threat, and the public would see him as a fearless hero who wouldn't hesitate to protect others. Red did not like this image of himself but stuck to that role anyway out of fear of letting down everyone, his true self turning into a hidden thing that only friends and family could see.

The day after he became Champion, the remaining members of Rocket sent him a threat, promising to cause harm to those he cared about if they saw him again. Red would flee to Mount Silver as a result of this, telling no one about his whereabouts or the threat in an attempt to protect them, but had unintentionally had caused them pain due to his sudden disappearance, with the death of another family member happening a week later, which Red had been unaware of until Hibiki brought him back down the mountain a few years later.

Red still trains to be the very best and fighting evil teams, but enjoying neither of them. When he's avoiding the public, he relaxes and studies pokemon or hangs out with his friends and cousins.

Perhaps one day, Red can break free from the shadow he created and embrace who he truly is inside.
