I sit here and talk about what I believe and someone replies calling me names and saying every hateful thing they can possibly think of which is the most popular choice, agreeing with me (second most), or just simply trying to have a nice and civil debate (as rare as it gets) but at the end of the day, we’re all in a modern civil war. Right vs. Left and we go around and around and hate each other and fight on social media and in the streets instead of just accepting that we believe different things and that’s okay. Some of my best friends are democrats and I’m fine with that. Their right is choosing what party they’re in. It’s just depressing how people can’t just agree to disagree. No democrat should have to be subject to ridicule for their beliefs and republicans shouldn’t, either. At the end of the day, we’re just trying to make the world a better place. We just disagree on the path to accomplish that.”

A comment I saw on YouTube, recently. It’s stuck with me. As a Republican and a Christian, I’ve been verbally attacked for my beliefs. I’ve been called every name you can think of online. I’ve feared the thoughts people would have about me purely based on my party and religion, not even knowing that’s not how I actually felt. I’m not homophobic. I don’t worship Trump like a god. I’m not ANYTHING like Westboro Baptist. They’re an embarrassment to our religion and they show people something we’re not.

I believe everything said in this quote. Specifically the part where they talk about us all wanting to make the world a better place but we just simply disagree on how to accomplish that.

Character A is being either beaten, tortured, stabbed or poisoned and his S/O (Character B) is being held back by some of the bad guy’s henchmen, and B is fighting as hard as she can to get to him. When the bad guys leave, B runs over to A and tries to help and apply pressure so he doesn’t bleed out. A slightly kicks his legs and groans at the pain the pressure gives him.

The ambulance shows up and the paramedics give him an oxygen mask and he’s nearly unconscious at this point. He kind of paws at it but the paramedic slowly and gently lowers his arm.

When A wakes up, he sees B in the chair next to his bed in the hospital room. He tries to talk but he can’t. He’s still got on a full oxygen mask because they didn’t trust his damaged body enough for him to breathe on his own.

How old were you when you first realized you liked guys getting hurt?: I was 10 or 11.

What was that very first scene you remember gave you those glorious butterfly feelings?: It was from one of the most unexpected shows. iCarly! It was the episode where Freddy got hit by a bus protecting Carly. He was in bed with a cast on and for some reason I was enjoying it so much! I watched it over and over again! I had previously experienced loving seeing guys get hurt but, for some reason, it hadn’t registered until then.

When and how was it that you realized “Hey, I’m not so messed up in the head!” and that there’s a definition and community for this sort of thing?: I’m not exactly sure. I’d say about 6 months to a year ago. I know I was 16... My birthday is February 7th... Yeah, I’m not sure. I was looking up specific episodes where Castiel gets hurt and I saw a tumblr tag and it took me through a bunch of different whump blogs. I’d looked through them and got really excited, realizing that I wasn’t alone in this!

What’s your favorite whump trope?: Oh wow. Um... being shot, stabbed, poisoned, passing out, being found unconscious, eyes rolling in the back of his head, torture, hurt comfort, hospital scenes, transportation scenes, hiding the injury until they can’t bear it anymore, the loved one getting angry because they didn’t say anything... “Are you just going to name all of them?” I ask myself... “Well not now...”

What’s a whump trope that you hate?: Downplayed injuries, skipping transportation scenes, unrealistic recovery times, no emotional trauma after something that would absolutely traumatize someone.

What’s your favorite whumped character?: At gunpoint, Barry Allen. But that would literally be my answer if someone held me at gunpoint and asked that. Honestly, I don’t know. I don’t think I have one. I looooove Barry whump but there’s Killian Jones, Dean Winchester, Castiel, Oliver Queen, Steve McGarrett, any character Sebastian Stan plays, Martin Riggs (Lethal Weapon Fox), etc. I just have so many that make me so happy!

What’s that whumped scene(s) that you’ve watched over and over again. (We know you do it and we understand): I re-watch any that I like. Any and all of them. I’ll name a few, though, for the sake of the portfolio. 

The Labyrinth - the scene where Sebastian Stan’s character gets shot in the leg

There’s plenty episodes from plenty of shows but I’ll stop there. (The Flash is a really whumpy show. That’s why my whumpslist for it is taking so long)

Bullet or stab wounds?: In the moment, bullet! But if we’re talking after the fact, I’d say stab wound. It takes longer to heal and there are so many things that can go wrong!

Fevers or Hypothermia?: Hypothermia. Normally I’d say fever but hypothermia is too delicious to pass up. Slowed reaction times, (painfully slow crawling away, barely able to put their hands up to keep from getting hurt again, etc.), hallucinations (need I say more?), slowing heart rate, and more! THEN!!! Afterwards, if the hypothermia didn’t kill them, they probably get a fever so it ends up being a buy-one-get-one-free deal, ya feel me?

Emotional or physical?: PHYSICAL!!! I like a tragic backstory, don’t get me wrong, but the blood, whimpering, ambulance and hospital scenes... WOO! *fans self* Plus, like the hypothermia thing, it can be a 2 for 1 thing. The physical whump can lead to PTSD and such. (emotional) {As you can see, I’m the queen of loopholes... I got in trouble a lot in school for that...}

Injured and asks for help or tries to cover it up?: Tries to cover it up for sure; until it becomes utterly unbearable, then he asks for help milliseconds before passing out. He starts to say the name of his loved one but he doesn’t get it fully out and BOOM he’s on the ground, unconscious or holding his wound, gasping for air.

Lastly, does anyone know about this addiction of yours?: Only those of you who follow me on here. None of my family knows and they never will. My best friend who is like my sister doesn’t even know. It’s one of those things, for me, that is just too personal. I sometimes want to tell someone and when I plan out in my head what I’m gonna say I get all anxious and decide not to do it so no. Never. Not even on my death bed.
