Serene seaside scenery for this antique kimono, showing gulls flying over aboshi (drying fishnets, propped up with a pole), with nadeshiko (fringed pinks) in the foreground.
Background has scattered seigaiha (ancient pattern symbolizing waves).

Rare pattern for this antique furisode, depicting a carefree riverside scenery featuring three geisha enjoying summery leisures.
In the boat cruising on the skirt, the geisha in purple is fishing, while her companion in green is scooping water with a sakazuki (sake cup). On right sleeve, another geisha (wearing a chic hikizuri with plovers taking flight over drying fishnets) is casually strolling by a bridge.
Furisode like that are such novelty items. Like OP, I wonder why such a garment was commisionned, and who wore it and where!

Aboshi, Odium's answer to the stormfather and the nightwatcher, sleeping in the Misted Mountains of Shinovar
So I'm doing my oathbringer re-read, and this is the main thing i picked up. There is an ancient, powerful spren living in the mountains of Shinovar. Szeth mentions them offhand when thinking about Nale. The spren is unnamed, although the Shin give it the honorific "aboshi". This honorific is used only for that spren, although Szeth repurposes is to address the herald Nale. This implies the spren is extremely important in Shin theology
As odium arrived on Roshar with the humans, who originally inhabited only Shinovar, Aboshi's location is exactly right to be the spren of Odium.
The only other mention of Odium's spren is in a Dalinar chapter. The spren is slumbering, although the stormfather refuses to say where, because humanity has supposedly done something to hurt them. What was done to Aboshi? Can they be trusted in the fight against Odium?

aww, :)
It's facts about yourself, right? Okay so...
1) I have a conlang called Àboshì (or aboshi if I'm lazy) which I go between thinking is cool (around my normal friends) or horrible and an embarrassment (around like 90% of other conlangers)
2) I kinda despise my band director and don't know if I actually want to quit band. (not that it even matters, since I'm not allowed to quit... sigh....)
