Himeji Castle Illumination: A Night in a Fairytale
As night fell over Himeji, the crowds thinned, and a hushed calm settled over the castle grounds. The usual bustle gave way to gentle footsteps and the soft rustle of trees in the evening breeze.
The paths were lit in soft hues of pink, red, and gold—like the castle had borrowed colours from a dream. Each turn revealed another scene bathed in warm, glowing light. The ancient stone walls shimmered, the sakura trees blushed under the coloured beams, and reflections danced quietly in the moats.
It didn’t feel like real life anymore—more like we had wandered into a storybook world, one where samurai once stood watch and time now moved just a little slower. I was so glad we made time for it. The whole thing felt a bit magical—like a gentle fairytale wrapped in moonlight.
